My Tom Kha soup was tasty and creamy. It served as a hot temperature. My Drunken noodles were saucy with fried tofu. Thomas delivered Thai spicy chili sauce, which was mega hot, so a little goes a long long way.
Parking was easy. I arrived before dinner time. It’s off the main road and tucked behind a set of shops.
Bon Apetit!
I’ve seen Z’s House of Thai mentioned online for a long time now, so when a friend wanted Thai food for lunch, I said, “I know just the place!”
It’s a small shack-like building tucked away in downtown Cave Creek, right next to Janey’s. Choose to sit at the bar, a table in the dark interior or out on the patio. We choose the nice cool weather outside with views of mountains and saguaros, because when I’m in the Creek, I want to sit outside in it.
We shared a few items: Green curry with chicken, cucumber salad, and the server suggestion of the BBQ pork. We had intended on trying more, but honestly, this was the perfect filling lunch for two. I don’t believe that you can ever go wrong with a cucumber salad as it’s so light and refreshing. Not only did I love the flavor of the pork appetizer, but the unexpected slight crunch was so nice as well. The green curry was fresh and tasty with a hint of spice. A small tin of extra spice sauce was brought out if we wanted to add extra heat.
I love hanging in the Creek and Z’s is another quaint location to enjoy good food and feel the small town vibes.
He was definitely not friendly or welcoming whatsoever. It seemed like he was trying to block us from even going inside. He said the restaurant is not taking any more customers and gave us absolutely no reason why. It said on the door they were open until 9 pm and it was only 7:15.
Just from the way he handled everything, makes me never want to come the this restaurant again.
I have worked in the food Industry my whole life and know that customer service plays a vital role. In addition, after reading all these other reviews on here as well , I’d say that working towards better customer service should be something that need a lot more improvement.
I would like to respond to what the owner said.
“As someone who has spent years in the food Industry, I know how stressful a full house can be. However, I’ve never seen a professional owner respond to feedback with name-calling. A simple ‘Sorry, we were at capacity’ would have sufficed. Even though, just her saying that would be a lie because as we looked inside the restaurant, it had maybe 3 tables eating inside. Attacking a customer’s anonymity and character instead of addressing the service issue is disappointing and speaks volumes about the management style here”
I walked in late on their last hour on a weekday night this week, and for the summer slow season, I was impressed. Most small business restaurants shorten their hours. (They are open until 9 pm
It felt like I was dining in their home by the decor, atmosphere, and especially the service. Pete, the chef/owners husband, takes pride in their family business and is exceptionally warm and hospitable with every guest!
My Pad Thai with beef was served with a generous helping of protein compared to all my past Thai restaurant experiences. Moreover, it was mouthwatering, the beef was SO tender, and the dish itself was not dry like some pad thai’s.
I was so relaxed there I forgot to take photos beyond my food. But I will catch up when I return several times to devour the entire menu, one dish at a time!
