We ordered food via UberEats and it came on time and warm. This was part of a bundle order and we ordered beef patties. We were definitely excited to try it as it’s hard to find it where we live. We both enjoyed it as it was light and flaky. Maybe not the best snack to munch on if you’re on a work call/meeting. This restaurant had many options for patties (chicken, beef, and with coco bread).

I’ve been eating here for years, one of the best Jamaican food you can find around that area. With that been said, the food is not the issue but there is this particular female that doesn’t gives a rats ass about the business. I never got her name, but her attitude stinks. She doesn’t greet customers and speak to everyone just the same, she wears some long eyelashes and move slower than snail even when there’s a long line. She’s always on her phone, nevermind the long line of customers waiting to place their order. I went in there one morning before work and I just wanted to get 2 patties but she was there talking on her phone and moving even more slower that morning and about 4 people was ahead of me in the line. She’s been there for a while, so I’m guessing she might own the business or related to whoever runs it. I’m not one to do reviews, but her attitude will surely push away good customers.

I don’t know what happened to this place. I’m so disappointed. This place got 6 stars from me in the past. The entire atmosphere has changed and the food ? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHEF? Their Goat Head Soup (Saturdays only) has a lot of lamb chunks but is too oily, and the dumplings in it is just okay. Their fish cakes are huge but have more batter than fish. The only dessert they sell is bread pudding. The staff is friendly to me, but I do not recommend this place. BBQ (The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens) are “where it is at” for the best Jamaican.

I went to get my order yesterday 9-30-2025 and this one female preparing food behind the counter was on her ipod yapping …giggling away and moving as fast as a sloth with no care .. .Mind you at least 6 people were waiting for thier orders.. Atmosphere does not feel friendly or inviting at all .Total waste of time when there’s people like her not working to serve correctly.. obviously her personal conversations are more important to her than running a business correctly..
I can now see how they brilliantly picked out the perfect name ( Island Jerks )for their business…they just forgot to add an S to the end.
Keep your Grub. Ill Spend my money somewhere else.

Went in yesterday afternoon with my daughter, got a large curry chicken with white rice got a large curry goat with rice and peas cabbage. Customer Sevice was horrible. The young man seemed irritated like I was bothering him. I went home. My husband couldn’t even eat the food. How much curry do you put on the curry goat? Was that intentional my husband couldn’t believe it. For a man who is ate Jamaican food for over 40 years could not believe the amount of curry! I’m 100% believe I was racially profiled because I’m white and my daughter is white really shouldn’t matter but my husband is black and has had Jamaican food all his life Elmont Hempstead Uniondale never had this kind of issue. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the ratings before I ordered the food big waste of money almost $40 wasted plantains were dry and disgusting. The rice was dry and old. I’m a resident of Deer Park and the community here takes quality food seriously and do not want to be racially profiled. You should talk to your workers about their customer service and their biases shouldn’t affect the quality of food and the service I receive they’re hurting your business

I wasn’t expecting much from Long Island in terms of Caribbean food but Island Jerk set the bar so low it might as well be under the building. 15+ dollars to get home and find TWO OXTAILS???? And not even big ones? No gravy on the rice (which was hard and dry btw). Cabbage was flavorless and sad. Only redeeming quality was the plantain. The reviews don’t lie. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
