I’m not usually a coffee drinker, I thought I was more of a chai tea person, but today I wanted something warm and by chance I passed Troubador.
When I first walked in I was greeted by a cozy coffee shop environment, filled with pictures (I’m assuming) of the owners sourcing the coffee beans.
I had trouble finding the menu at first, and honestly didn’t want to seem entirely clueless , so I ordered a latte. I wasn’t sure what I was going to get, but the man behind the counter took care in preparing my to-go order and seemed very nice.
When I got back to the car and finally tried it, I was amazed! I called two people to tell them about it, it was like magic how it was sweet with no sugar added to it. The smoothest coffee I’ve ever had, and I love that there was still time taken for latte art under the lid.
Next time I’m in, I want that “pretentious coffee drinker” spiel the negative reviews talk about! lol

The best coffee you will find in Cleveland. The entire shop is adorned with pictures of the owner visiting the coffee farms around the world. It is evident by both the quality of the coffee, and the pictures that they operate the business with genuine passion. 10/10 go there any opportunity I can.

I recently had the distinct pleasure of participating in an espresso and milk skills class at Troubadour Coffee in Fairview Park. It was a discussion and hands-on session. Tony DiCorpo lead an in depth survey of coffee, answering our questions. Next, Wayne Nagy had us “pulll” some espresso shots, changing various settings and noting the resulting taste. Then, it was on to steaming milk and making cappuccinos. Finally, and importantly, cleaning the equipment. It was a well spent couple of hours learning some barista basics. If you want to up your coffee game, sign up for a class at Troubadour Coffee, you will be making better coffee drinks.

Super chill and quiet coffee shop to just sit down and do work.
Coffee was surprisingly good. I’m a huge coffee snob and so I’m very particular about coffee quality as far as greens and roasts go. I usually don’t order pour-overs because quite frankly most coffee shops don’t do it well. But I did order one here (natural Ethiopian) and it was very clean and transparent. Could taste all the coffee had to offer.
Definitely will be coming back soon.

Look, the coffee is fine, it’s a $6.25 pour over that is made with above average beans, roasted in house.
I am giving this two stars because they have an espresso machine and will not serve an Americano, and they will not make an iced filter, but serve cold brew.
I am sure it’s philosophical from the owner, but it comes off as pretentious and predatory, when the only way to get a black coffee costs as much as a specialty latte at other shops in Cleveland. Honestly I am glad that filter coffee is surviving here, but if I don’t have the time to actually sit and appreciate the beans on a given day, I don’t want to pay more to wait an extra 3 minutes for my coffee to be ready. If your americanos don’t taste good and show off your beans, that’s a skill issue, not a drink format issue.
As for the lack of ice, that also just comes off as cheap and lazy. You serve cold brew, so your problem is not with cold coffee. I won’t say it’s objective, but you will not find many specialty coffee enjoyers that prefer cold brew to an iced hot brew. If you want to sell filter coffee, and charge the premium it commands, you need to spend the time to dial in two recipes, hot and iced.
I would really love to love this place, the baristas are kind and personable, the location is great, and its not like there are other options close by. Unless some changes are made, I will continue to make the longer drive to frequent other shops.

It was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. The barista provided great consultation on what coffee to choose and it fit my usual preference perfectly! Perfect pourover for the start of the day!

Stopped in for the first time today and was blown away way by the service and quality. The gentleman working behind the counter was quick to educate me on the various options they had available and what to expect from each. The coffee was incredible, will definitely be back soon for more!

This is a nice and chill coffee shop that has quality coffees and teas. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of all their coffee and tea selections. They do not offer flavors for lattes or creamers because they focus on the flavor in the coffee beans and believe that’s how it should be consumed. But they do have almond milk and soy milk to go with your lattes or cappuccino. The atmosphere is nice with pictures of the owner traveling overseas for coffee beans. And the music is chill lo-fi which is great for working. I recommend this place if you’re looking for quality coffee flavors instead of sugary frappuccinos.

My husband knows I’m picky with my coffee so he brought me here when we were on a road trip. I didn’t have any luck finding good coffee until I came to this coffee shop. It is truly a hidden gem in Ohio!!!! I lived in Seattle all my life and you just get picky with coffee when you live in Seattle. You can tell the owner of Troubadour is passionate about coffee when you walk in. Loved my iced latte and my husband’s pour over!! Too bad I don’t even live near Ohio..I would definitely revisit!!!

I am by no means a coffee connoisseur but I have had a lot of coffee in my time, and support many small business coffee shops, and their iced latte is the best I have ever had. The flavor is bold and robust and so smooth. A true treat. The gentleman who owns it is kind, very knowledgeable and passionate. Give it a shot ( had to) next time you’re in the area!
