We have eaten in this restaurant several times and the crab cakes and other food items are fantastic. Today is the day before the superbowl. Wanted to get steamed crabs and couldn’t find anyone with any crabs. However, I called this restaurant and they had crabs. I was totally shocked and went to order. Since I haven’t had their steamed crabs, only ordered 1/2 dozen of extra large. I was told the crabs are heavy. Now I usually steam my own crabs but decided I needed a break and enjoy what I brought. Well the crabs were done under 15 minutes and it seemed odd to me. Got home, the crabs were very light, dry and stringy. Reheated and not freshly steamed. I will never go back to get their crabs. For this if I could give them a zero I would but I have to give a one to let all know.

Been having these crabs at my mother in-laws over the years, carryout. I like the seasoning and like any time you have crabs ya never know what you are going to get depending if early season Maryland or late or from down south somewhere. She got mediums and smalls for 6 of us. Not sure if they had anything larger but she was treating….
Some were very heavy and some were very light…. The shrimp were not deveined. Dont quite understand that? But overall happy with the crabs from here.

Captain. Bobs has been a main part of our family celebration for a couple of decades now. We stopped here and got jumbo crabs, corn on the cob, and fried chicken just a ham steak away from a delmarvelous dinner, lol. As always, the crabs were awesome, big, hot, and meaty. The broasted chicken is perfect. I will say I’ve had better corn and wanting another Pepsi was hard to get. All in all, I love Captain Bobs to fix my crab cravings.

Our dozen crabs may have been steamed fresh, but not anytime close to my order. On a Saturday, we spent $95 on a dozen of tough, dry, stringy meat crabs. Our dozen hush puppies were mediocre at best but they were $13, so they fall to one star as well.
I can honestly say that I have never had a more disappointing time eating crabs, and I was taught to pick crab in 1974…
So sorry to leave this review, but I can’t let others have a similar experience.

Visiting from Dallas and had to try the crabs! Indoor and outdoor seating. BYOB. Had the all you can eat crabs; $39.95/ person. The crabs were big and the waiter just kept bringing more. Amazing service!

Have been coming here for crabs since the early 90’s. The best crab joint in town for steamed, live, or eat in restaurant Maryland blue crabs. Trustworthy, honest, great service. Recently did the all you can eat in restaurant and it was FANTASTIC! Thanks for holding strong all these years Capt Bobs!

We had fun sitting outdoors, listening to live music. Friendly and helpful staff, and great food. It’s BYOB, and we heard that people stop at the local Rutter’s. And the crab cake sandwich was great.

First time here, loved the outside seating area and the music. Crab cakes were $25 each which was fine, but blown away that the hushpuppies were $14 for a small serving and a bowl which was really a cup size, 8oz, of tomato basil crab soup was $14. The soup was delicious but warmish, not hot. The waiter didn’t give us utensils, paper towels for napkins, or salt and pepper. We had no napkins the entire meal. We’ll probably go again, but no appetizers or soup for that price.

Crabs were tasty and nicely seasoned but way too small and hardly any meat. All you can eat crabs are definitely not worth the money, in my opinion. Automatic 20% gratuity for a larger party is fine, but the service needs to be there. Not rude just not present so drinks weren’t refilled, couldn’t find her, and just didn’t follow through on requests. We were pretty much the only ones there.
