Chicken shawarma is honestly just really good—super juicy, flavorful chicken wrapped in soft pita with creamy garlic sauce and some crunchy veggies. It’s got a little kick, but nothing crazy, and everything just works together perfectly. It’s one of those meals that’s simple but hits every time. Since the new ownership took over, my wife and I have ordered from Shawarma House three times. The first time was okay. The second time was great. The third time, the latest, was terrible.
We ordered everything from the Shawarma House Plate to Sandwiches and Ghallaba. This last order resulted in tarnished old food that made my wife throw up all night and left me with an upset stomach running to the toilet.
The funny thing is, whether it was in Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or Lebanon, we can confidently say the food from Shawarma House in Oxford during our last visit was tarnished to an extent.
