The burger of the day was amazing and so were the cheese curds! Had a great time dining there, service was good too!
It was a great view while we ate and the food was delicious. We split a bottle of wine, got the cheese curd special, and each got an entree. I got the walleye with risotto, and I would get it again.
The waitress was kind, but she seemed too busy to provide the quality of service expected when spending as much as you spend here. It is possible that another staff member called in sick so they were slightly short staffed on the night we visited. This is understandable and since it isn’t a regular place for us, it could have been a one time thing.
Our server was nice, the food for 4 of us was ok. The Tilefish special was pretty good. They switched two of our meals even though we asked “is this the…” and didn’t seem to care much. One person felt she had the wrong cut of meat although they tried to say they just cut it this unusual way we were all unfamiliar with. The staff just seemed tired and rather done.
They get full marks for the lovely view, although the battling wedding DJs colliding around us was a bit much. They could have made more of an effort.
This restaurant has tanked in the last few years. We had our wedding here in 2012, so like to come back to celebrate our anniversary. The menu was really underwhelming, the selections were predictable and not enticing. Ordered cheese curds to start. Im a Wisconsinite – those were NOT cheese curds. Not in flavor,
texture or shape. Call it fried cheese if youre just going to use tempura on cheese cubes. Curds are irregular shaped, and usually slightly chewy, not soft and gooey. Ranch dressing could’ve been used to kill a vampire it had so much garlic.
My entree was supposed to be fish and chips. The fish edible, but honestly, Long John Silvers does better. Way more like grocery store fish sticks. Fries were soggy. Sure, the tartar sauce was home made, but it was SALTY, when it shouldn’t be. That, and the chef put it on a bed of wilted, half rotten oily greens that stuck to the fish. My salad came out with dinner, and the lettuce was just on the edge of being bad. Looked like they dumped a half a bag of crouton crumbs on it with store bought caeser dressing. My husband had a French dip sandwich, but once again, we’ve had way better for less money, and his fries were soggy too.
Ou server was really trying, but she had at least 7 four-tops.
This is such a vast departure from the upscale restaurant we’ve celebrated at for years. I don’t know WHAT they’re doing, but they’re doing it extremely poorly.
