Was meetings some friends for a bourbon sampling and decided to stop by Cronies for a bite to eat. Don’t know how to describe the vibe but it was a bit over the top. I sat inside and there was a group that may have been coordinating the FFL draft. Any way they were loud and dropping F Bombs like nothing. Waitress was rushed and I would say not to interested in making me feel welcome. Not rude just not very engaging. Maybe because I am not a regular? The Ruben sandwich was good. Plenty of thinly sliced meat, with a tangy dressing on crisp rye. Order it with Tater Tots. Overall mid road experience.

My cousin used to come here when she was a child with her father. And everyone we meet that wants to come here we tell them to make it here when they can. It’s a must this place is great sports bar with really good and delicious food! Come here for a sports game or to enjoy the environment!

It’s been about 5 years since I ate at Cronies…I shouldn’t have waited so long. The first time I must have been there on an off day because yesterday was fantastic! I went for breakfast. The food was delicious and served quick and hot! I had the Chicken Fried Steak with 3 on and home fries. The steak is obviously hand breaded, my over medium eggs were cooked perfectly, and the home fries are exactly how I like ’em. Service was quick, fast, and friendly. I sat outside on the patio and three waitresses asked me if I was ready to order in the first 5 minutes I was there. Friendly folks on the patio and the open conversation was about our Dodgers and the upcoming game 3 of the World Series! What a great way to enjoy a delicious breakfast! Cronies is going to be a regular stop for me!

Cronies is a typical sports bar with a family friendly flair. You seat yourself ( no signs stating so ) and have multiple people tending to your table. Third time here and I notice the regulars get a lot of attention more so than standard patrons. It’s very common for the staff to socialize with them. It’s a great place to grab a cold beer and a bite to eat. Also to watch multiple sports events of course. Currently there is construction going on and it seems they are updating their outdoor patio area. Should be a nice upgrade since their current large outdoor area is under a pretty worn out pop up canopy.

My son and I went for the first time to join the Rams boosters to watch the Rams vs Ravens game. I attempt to set a good example for my son, so I waited for quite some time at the front to check in to be seated as it states on a chalk board on the check-in podium. We were informed it would be about a 30 minute wait as there were about three groups ahead of us.

We waited for approximately 17 minutes and noticed none of the original groups still waiting outside after numerous tables cleared out. What we did see was 3 different groups, about a dozen people, park then walk directly to the patio or inside and take recently emptied tables.
I walked to ask at the podium and was told there were still people ahead of us. NONE of the people on the list before us had been checked off, though I had seen all the groups waiting outside seated. I walked outside to inform my son and proceeded to watch a group of four, who arrived 15 minutes after us, sit down at a table that was just cleared when a group got up. We saw them check-in, but both they, their waitress, and the woman checking people in completely ignored the list.

A group of Ram fans seated at the front who had watched us come in and watched everyone else just grab tables or get seated after us asked why we hadn’t been seated yet. I couldn’t answer that question and I didn’t want my 12 yo son to miss anymore of the game and to feed him.

We drove to the Dugout on Madera. Our first time there. Wow, there check-in procedure was so much more organized and efficient. They were fairly full, but we were seated within minutes. A waitress was at our table and brought drinks a few minutes later. We ordered and my son got the chicken tenders and said they were great. I had a wonderful tri tip sandwich. And, we were seated across from some other friendly Rams fans.

Cronies, place your check-in sign ABOVE your check-in podium. It can’t be seen when people are standing in front of it. Enforce the check-in policy. Maybe put reserved signs on tables when they are being cleared to avoid people just grabbing them.

If the Rams boosters go to Cronies again, we may give you another shot. We’ll be watching to see if your check-in process improves.

Before writing this I read other recent reviews that suggest people have felt ignored entering Cronies and after being seated. It’s been many years since I’ve waited or bussed tables. Not an easy job. Sometimes customer service is a staffing problem. Sometimes it’s a system problem. Sometimes it’s both.

Having a “talk” with your staff isn’t going to fix this problem. Explain the concern, then ask them what they recommend can be done to solve the issue. Get buy in from them.

And, if it’s a problem of perception, then it still needs to be corrected. Reality doesn’t matter if your customers consistently perceive a problem.

Looking forward to giving Cronies another try in the future and modifying my review if there is improvement. I like to see family businesses thrive.

The food was great!! The staff was very friendly and fast. We were passing through and glad we stopped…it was a full house in there and I can see why. Well worth the stop! We had the armadillo eggs (jalapeño poppers) as a starter. We decided to go with the Little Daddy burger (soooo good) for our main course. We have never been asked if we wanted a regular or large Corona so we figured why not go with the big one. Everything was on point about this place. Loved it!

This is such a fun place to grab a beer (or a mimosa) and catch a game. It’s also a great place to hang with friends for a casual visit that won’t break the bank.

I’ve always had great service here. They don’t constantly interrupt your meal but don’t leave you unattended for too long for either.

I would give this 5 stars if they had more vegan/plant-based options. I just learned their garden burger can’t be made vegan because it has cheese inside the party! They have a veggie sandwich that’s ok, but with so many other places offering vegan options lately, it’s too bad they don’t have another option. The breakfast menu is lacking vegan options. I got the side of O’Brien potatoes and they were ok. Nothing super special but it got tht job done. If you get a mimosa, know that you can get it with OJ or cranberry or both!

Overall, I love this place and will continue to visit here, but probably for lunch or dinner rather than for breakfast.

As soon as my partner and I entered we didn’t feel greeted at all. We were new to this place so we didn’t know how things worked. We stood by the entrance for about 10 minutes until a customer told us we could pick any table to sit at. We sat down and the server passed by us about 5 times, made eye contact with us, yet never said a word. She went to two tables by us to give them a menu…. while we were there staring at her waiting for her to bring us a menu or something !!! My partner and I felt so uncomfortable and especially because we were the only Brown Skinned Hispanic couple there. We literally left after 15-20 minutes of just sitting there. I do not recommend this place, unless you’re WHITE.

It’s a fun sports bar, the burgers are good but other dishes have been either a hit or miss. We visit this place more for the atmosphere than the food. The drinks are strong and the service is good.
