Giving it four stars for the service and atmosphere. This Italian restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Winston and the service is exceptional. I got the chicken Alfredo and a tiramisu for dessert. I am nitpicking but the chicken Alfredo looked a bit sloppily plated (see how the sauce is sloshed outside the plate)? But it could have just accidentally spilled over in transit. No complaints about the taste- I’m not blown away but it was good Italian food. Tiramisu was delicious. Overall I would consider coming here again just for the vibe.

My husband and I made reservations for 5pm two days before Valentine’s Day. We’d never been here before and were super excited to try it based on their website (reviews were mixed). The entrance was a bit odd, you immediately walk into a curtain, if it’s your first time, you aren’t sure where to go. We were seated right away. A small table for two, barely big enough for the menus and drinks to fit on. Especially once appetizers came out. We got the clams, and waygu meatballs with spicy marinara. Both of these were very good! Absolutely loved the meatballs and clams. Each appetizer was $15 each. Meatball portion was good for the price, I do feel a few more clams could have been on the plate, but also understand seafood is more costly. For our entrees, I got the angel hair pasta, with mushrooms, pea, cream, tomato and waygu beef sauce. My husband got the lamb. I enjoyed my pasta. It could have used a little more meat sauce and the mushrooms seemed like canned mushrooms so I didn’t eat them. Husbands lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Very small lamb chops I will say, and underneath was just some green beans, wasn’t very impressed with the whole dish, the lamb was good though. He ordered it rare. We also both got a martini, strong, but lacking the basil flavor it was supposed to have. Ended the night with dessert (tiramisu) definitely the best I’ve had. Our server was nice, but didn’t give much time ro order our food or drinks and would walk off. He did give us a free martini because it was made by mistake. We had some random cash on us and decided to use it, our bill was $140, we put $160 and waited on him to the come back. I had 2 more $20 bills I was leaving for the tip along with the change. We waited…and waited. He never came back. My husband finally said “are we good to go?” He looked confused and said “yeah?”. Kinda weird that he automatically thought we didn’t want the change back. I still left the rest of the tip on the table. Overall, I’d love to have the meatballs again, but probably wouldn’t come back for the entrees. Village Tavern has pasta just as good.

Food was terrific. We had everything from wagu meatballs, Brussel sprouts, black bass, and pasta dishes. Kathy our waitress was wonderful. Attentive, knowledgeable, fun, didn’t rush us, pleasant to talk with. We give 3 for atmosphere because we were on the back level which is not as good as the main dining room. It’s for larger groups and we had five. We’ve been in the main dining room and it’s a much better ambiance. O real, we’ll definitely come back again. Great spot!

Absolutely stunning! The service is incredible! Greg, our server was very animated and incredibly friendly, infor.ative, and personable. 100/10 for him. The food was served in very generous portions, and the bread service is to die for. Especially the butter! Probably the best I have had in quite a while. They have an excellent wine menu and Greg was very well versed in the selections. 10/10 all around, will definitely be back and will absolutely recommend to anyone seeking Italian fare in the triad area!

We were really looking forward to trying this Italian restaurant for a nice upscale date night. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the start.
We were the first customers in the restaurant. The host brought us water and told us our server would be right over. Ten minutes passed and no one came to our table. During that time, another table was seated and immediately helped by a waitress sitting directly across from us. We waited an additional five minutes while multiple staff members walked past us and even peeked around corners, but no one acknowledged us or offered service.
After waiting with no attention at all, we decided we would not spend our money at a place that shows such poor customer service. We left and went around the block to Spotted Cow Steakhouse, where we enjoyed every bite of our meal and received wonderful customer service.
We will not be returning here and would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

We went the day after Valentine’s Day for a late dinner and had a nice time. The place was packed so I would encourage a reservation. Some of the dishes were better than others. The highlights for us were their table bread with the best butter you ever tasted and their wagyu meatballs appetizer. Those alone deserve five stars. However, the lasagna and the lamb chops entree were let downs. Definitely wished we could have enjoyed them. The clam appetizer was fine just a tad bit overdone. We are open to going back, trying some other dishes, and hopefully liking them much better.

Solid food and service, but a bit underwhelming overall
We visited after seeing all the great reviews, and while the food was good, it didn’t quite blow us away. I had the New Zealand lamb, which was nicely cooked, though the polenta on the side lacked flavor for my taste. My partner’s Alfredo was solid. Service was very good—attentive and professional. The restaurant itself is nice, but something about the atmosphere didn’t feel as warm or welcoming as we expected. For the price and quality, it’s a decent spot and I’d give it another shot—maybe with a different dish next time
