Stopped in for a quick bite to eat while traveling. This was one of the best hamburgers I’ve had. Ate the salad bar and it was good too. the thousands island dressing tasted homemade. The sweet tea is good too. The fried apple pie was a reminder of the old days along with the atmosphere. Definitely country living. My fav!

This was one of the best out of the way places we’ve been too. Our favorite mom and pop type joints. The hamburgers are fantastic! So was the fried apple pie. The sweet tea reminds me of home and the price was right lol! Definitely worth the stop.

Small town feel for sure, just passing through and I gotta say the people who work here treat you and everyone else like their neighbors. Which being a small town in sure most are haha.. I got the sweet tea, fried mushrooms and of course the chicken fried steak which was recommended by my sweet waitress Sydney! I rate this place a 5/5, I’m sure I’ll be back, I caught Patrick who has worked here a little over two years on his break and he was also super friendly. Thank you all for the great lunch and the great company.

My wife and I were driving back from my grandparents place in Milam county to the Dallas area a few Sunday’s back. We had a general plan of just powering through and getting home when I paused mid conversation and said “you know…” she lit up and said “Kosse Cafe!?” Read my mind. We stopped in for the chicken fried steak. Typically we go on a Friday night and get the catfish platter (personal favorite). My Dad loves the burgers best. And my wife is all about that CFS. It’s all damn good food, atmosphere and the staff is always sharp, attentive, kind and funny as hell. As a city boy that dips in 3 or 4 times a year, I appreciate that. We literally make decisions on when and what day we leave to see if a stop into the Kosse Cafe is possible.

Country fried steak is excellent.
10 out of 10
However it is ironically sold separately from any other breakfast entre it would be nice if they just sold it as a meal.
This is a great local hole in the wall definitely worth stopping for when traveling through this area.

Well where do I start !!!!!
Got a club (No Tomatoes) got tomatoes bread was soggy, bread wasn’t toasted.
NOT A GOOD MEAL at all..
Also quesadilla about 6 pieces of chicken on a large order, a lot of onions & even more bell peppers ( NOT CHICKEN).
Wasn’t worth the $$$$$ at all
Will not be returning.
