As I continue to support local businesses and restaurants, I was directed to another gem! Corner Pocket Sports Bar in Bowie, MD. From the outside I didn’t expect to see the huge open area with billiards, TVs, sitting areas, and a bar. As my brother and I went to the bar to learn about the menu, we were welcomed by Nic, who not only took our order but she introduced us to the owner, Leia. (I mean, who takes the time to do that nowadays!) Leia was so warm and kind as she shared about the venue and made me and my brother feel like family. Thanks also to Irene for her warm & welcoming spirit. Let’s just say, that as we only planned to spend no more than an hour to eat/drink; we were there until closing.
The food was tasty and the drinks were very good. We found a new local hangout for the New Year!

Center Pocket is an amazing pool hall and bar tucked away in a quiet corner of Bowie. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. The bar is consistent with low prices and revolving specials! I didn’t count but there are at least 20+ tables.
They support black on spirits, so there are plenty of Black Owned Brands on the bar and on tap! They also have a tasting room where they host live brand tastings on a regular basis. I had some chicken wings that were unrivaled and I’m a tough critic.
Definitely a must Go! Tell them I sent you!

Commanders fans definitely welcome! This place was very grown and Sexy and gave a good vibe. It was lively during the game and I had a great time!
3.5/5 : Cheeseburger The cheeseburger was good. It reminded me of a quarter pounder, Angus beef taste and flavor. They have fresh lettuce, tomatoes on top would knock some points off for me was no sauce options really other than ketchup and mayonnaise.

I am a multicultural person of color. I don’t mean to make this a race issue. However i thought this was a safe place for a person of color it is not. There were people that were white (again not that I care. I just come to get my wings and go. I don’t want any drama. They catered to white folks that ORDERED AFTER my friend and I.) With that being said the two white people that were so catered to said they felt “threatened” because they were around black people the owner was quick to kick me and my black friends out. He did not even try to get our side of the story. If the owner hates himself for being a POC that’s on him and he wants to cater to trumpie whites I guess that’s on him as well. But to immediately cater to the white folks without even asking or trying to understand my friends and I side of the story. The white folks were talking shit to my friends and when I checked temperatures I was in the wrong. The owner said they have security footage but when we asked for it they never showed it. He proceeded to say “I have a business to run”. And yes he does have a business to run but at the same time he needs to run a fair business. I am not a person that sees black and white as I am from the south and I come to this place often. It is sad to see that a black owner wouldn’t even try to see the POC’s side of the story. In the end this is not a safe place for blacks and POC because they will always cater to the white folks. The white folks could’ve said I smacked their first born child and he would’ve taken their word for it without glimpse of doubt. If he wants to tap dance for them that’s on him but I will not especially with what’s going on in the world today. I will never come to this establishment again. And I will spread this information to everyone that I know.

DELICIOUS.Their Cheesesteak Eggrolls ($8.50 with steak, American cheese, & spicy ranch). I need a more solid protein in this, & I needed them bigger, but good.
STAMP!! Their Wings ($8.99 for 5, I got 5 honey Old Bay, & 5 Spicy house made Mumbo sauce wings with house made ranch). Both were crispy, well sauced, & tasty!!
LIKE THAT! Their Veggie Cheesesteak ($15 with provolone, red, & green peppers, mushrooms, & house cut fries). For what this is, it was pretty tasty, & well seasoned!!
DELICIOUS. Their DC Style Halfsmoke ($10 with red, & green peppers, American cheese, & spicy mustard). It was good, it just didn’t taste like a traditional Halfsmoke.
STAMP!! Their Farmhouse Burger ($21.50 two angus beef patties, lettuce, tomato, a fried egg, American cheese, & bacon on a sesame seed bun). Thick, juicy, cheesy, fresh, tasty!!

I was excited to go here after looking up the place on the internet and reviewing the photos. I should have looked at the reviews and I would have been informed of the slow service, mediocre bar food that came out luke warm, over charging, and the lack of customer service when it comes to providing a great experience to your paying patrons bringing in large parties. Although I spoke with staff and the owner (light skinned African American female and another brown skinned African American female) about my concerns I didn’t get the feeling, response nor mutual concern that my voiced concerns ment anything because it was their business. As I’m not one to cause a scene I found myself apologizing to the owner as this is her establishment.
Just note that I was also charged 2 times on my credit card a $5 charge and a $58 charge. The $58 charge was for my food and drinks to which I asked for a printed receipt and never got. The other charge of $5 that I asked about I was told that it was for a hold to insure that customers have money on their card for their bill. When I asked why it wasn’t subtracted from my final bill I was told I would be refunded in 2-3 business days. I’ve never experienced this before at a restaurant or bar. I asked others in the group had they experienced this same charge a few did and others did not so review your bill carefully. Although it was crowded (football Sunday) with mostly locals I dont think myself or anyone that came out will return. My Americans can be spent else we’re.

It’s not the first time we have Anna or Ana (however you spell it) be our server, and each time is just as unpleasant as the last. She has a terrible attitude and zero customer service skills. Other than that, the pool tables are fine and the food is flavorful. It is expensive though and to receive such bad service is ridiculous.

We must protect this GEM at all costs! Went here to hang out on a Wednesday night after seeing it on Tik Tok. I was very impressed with the menu! It had both gluten free and vegan options. My friends and I all enjoyed our food. Will for sure be going back soon. There were plenty of pool tables available.

I actually really like this place. My wife and I visit every so often on our date nights. Plenty of pool tables, you can choose your own music, and the wings are pretty good.
The customer service went from decent to great. We had the pleasure of having Yolanda as our server on this past Saturday. She was very attentive and had a great recommendations for my wife who’s usually pretty picky.

Strolled in casually after brunch on Sunday to check the place out. Really loved the atmosphere. Greeted warmly by the owner. You can tell there are some regulars who come in cause they have their favorite table. Counted 28 tables so more than enough. The bartenders super friendly and knowledgeable letting us know about private room for hosting, music, and different game nights like spades and poker. My friends and I will definitely be back with empty stomachs to try some of the good smelling food coming out the kitchen. Black Owned, support.
