The food here was really good. I had the Mine Burger. It was a lot to eat with two beef patties, salami, spicy mayo, American & Pepperjack cheese, and grilled onions. But then it was covered in Colby cheese! Pure delight.
Our server was fantastic. He took great care of us and told us about the history of the Tavern, which was why we had originally been drawn to it. It opened in 1842 and served the coal miners in the area. It’s still going strong, which is a testimony itself.
For me, the atmosphere was a 5 because the original tin walls and ceiling were still in place. It’s small inside so might get crowded at times. We went for lunch during the week so had no problem.
This is a place I will definitely go back to with friends.

Totes the best burger in town. It was a good mushrooms & swiss burger but for $8 I expected it to be bigger. Now the loaded fries were amazing. The beer was very good. Lost coast tangerine wheat ale. The waiter was top notch and on point.

Great service and incredibly fast food! Our meals were already coming out to the table before we even finished ordering. Lori was our waitress, and she was very pleasant and attentive, which made the experience even better. The wings were especially good—nice and delicious. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed this place. Would definitely come back when we are in town again. This is a local gem ! Thanks again Lori !

It was nice and clean. The bartender was very nice and helpful with ordering. The food was wonderfuland good. I was there before the wall issue happened the next day. Hope everyone that works there is okay. Hope the issue gets fixed. I would like to be back.

This is a very comfortable tavern. We came for lunch during an Ohio State game. The place was almost packed, so we were able to get seats quickly. Sports decor dominate the walls, and there are quite a few TVs to watch the game. We were quickly served. I had the single Miner burger, and my wife tried the Miner melt. My burger was topped with salami and grilled onions. Burger was a bit overcooked but tasty. My wife enjoyed her melt. Option of either fries or chips. They have maybe a half dozen beers on tap, some of them craft. Service was good. We didn’t have to wait long for anything.

Been there twice & really liked our food both times. We go at lunchtime as we aren’t drinkers & it compares to any other restaurant with a bar inside. Slow, restaurant atmosphere. They do have a pool table that we enjoyed as well.
