The rainbow soup dumplings were quite good—especially the shrimp and zucchini flavor, which stood out to me. They have more of a fusion twist compared to traditional soup dumplings. As for the red oil wontons, they were just okay. The flavor wasn’t really my preference, particularly the taste of the vegetables. Will not recommend.

I’d been seeing rainbow soup dumplings and wanted to try them so decided to order from Dumpling District. They look slightly larger in photos than they are in real life.
There are 6 dumplings – pork, Mala (spicy pork), chicken, shrimp & zucchini, crab & pork & lastly a truffle with pork.

They were lukewarm. I tasted the shrimp, which was the green dumpling. It was my favorite out of all of the dumplings. It was a nice flavor. Next I tried the pork, which was good; then the chicken, which tasted okay. Next, I tried the crab & pork, which was a good tasting combo and then the spicy pork, which was the reddish color dumpling. Lastly, I tried the truffle pork, black dumpling. I was most looking forward to this as I love truffle, but this one was my least favorite. While it looked cool, the flavor wasn’t there.

Overall, I like the idea of pairing the dumplings together so that one can try various flavors at once. Aesthetically it looks like such a fun dish because it’s so colorful.

Now, I also ordered scallion pancake with beef. Normally, I wouldn’t order beef, but I’m oh so glad I did. It was delicious!! The scallion pancake w/ beef tasted flakey, flavorful and hearty. The beef was well seasoned and perfectly paired with the scallion pancake. Although it was a little oily, I would order the scallion pancake again and pair it with an Asian-inspired omelet made at home, it was that good.

I’m looking forward to dining in at Dumpling District. I’m happy to see that there are several throughout the DMV-area.

We were so excited to try a new dumpling place but were largely disappointed. The dumplings were luke warm and not great. The scallion pancake with beef was aweful. The pancake was rock hard as was the beef. Gave me ‘been sitting on the counter’ vibes, wish I had gotten a better picture before my bf ate it!

So GOOD! Fantastic, succulent, beautifully made rainbow soup dumplings and DELICIOUS, fluffy, flavorful pork bao buns! Let me just say I haven’t eaten soup dumplings before, but I love a good bao bun. They cooked these to perfection at such a reasonable price. Both of these dishes were made fresh to order and were so well done I was blown away. Look at the beautiful browning on the bottom of the bao bun! Fantastic late night find. I came for Kung Fu Tea and left not knowing I’d be a regular customer. Just go and be delighted.

Located inside Luna Hall.
FYI – if you have a shellfish allergy, pretty much everything contains oyster sauce, even the vegetable dumplings. I ended up getting just scallion pancake and ordering the poke instead

Great place tucked in next to H-Mart. It shares space with Kung Fu Tea. They haven’t updated the sign out front yet so it’s easy to miss. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the pork & shrimp shumai, beef pan fried buns, chicken fried buns and the rainbow soup dumplings. Everything came out quickly and at a perfect temperature and really flavorful. It was hard to pick a favorite dish but the beef bun was towards the top for me. It was well balanced between bread and filling, juicy with a nice peppery flavor. The red soup dumpling was also really good and had a bit of spiciness. Highly recommend checking them out.

Place was hard to find. For some reason, the name on the restaurant building is different. Menu didn’t have as many options. I however loved the friendly and professional service from the server. Food didn’t take long to be served. Order is self service. Lots of parking space in the lot.

Despite being called Dumpling District, they also have poke bowls that are SO GOOD. Ingredients tasted really fresh and crisp and the sauces are very good. Definitely coming back.
