If you have a Valentine’s reservation at Georgie, I would strongly reconsider.
We went last night, and chose Georgie specifically because there was no mention of a preset menu when we booked. Upon arrival, we were given a $155 per person prix fixe menu. The server said we had been called in advance and they left a voicemail. We checked our phones. No calls. No voicemail.
We almost got up and left, and we should have. The pricing simply did not align with what was served or the experience.
Here’s the breakdown:
• Prix fixe: $155 per person
• Duck entrée (normally $55), two small strips
• Tartare first course (normally $29)
• Very tiny chocolate tart for dessert
• Tito’s Martinis: $22.50 each
• Total: Over $500 for two people with tip
Before we factor in dessert value, the gap was $71, and it was the size of a Reese’s cup. the standard menu pricing does not approach $155. Some of the food bites were good, but nothing justified the cost. Ironically, the most memorable bites of the evening were the crispy potato sticks that came with the steak and the miniature chocolate tart.
For over $500, the experience should feel indulgent and celebratory. This one felt like a holiday upcharge without the experience to support it.

During our visit this week, we were excited to hear there was a new chef. While the food itself didn’t quite live up to our expectations, everything else about the experience was truly amazing. The service was top-notch, the drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the host made us feel very welcome. Although the main courses were subpar, our waiter was attentive and genuinely receptive to our feedback, which we appreciated. To end on a high note, the dessert was absolutely outstanding and became the highlight of the meal.

Amazing restaurant! Kendall was our server and she was very knowledgeable on the whole menu giving great recommendations that did not disappoint. Highly recommend the Georgie cocktail. The atmosphere is very warm, inviting, upscale and romantic.

An amazing dining experience. The food is unbelievable, prepared exactly as expected and tastes wonderful. The service is impeccable, providing enough space for an intimate experience, but always being available. The decor is eclectic, lots of 70s orange and fuzzy.

You MUST eat at Georgie if you are in Dallas. Chef RJ Yoakum’s dinner, for my 57th birthday, was a revelation. How a chef can make something as simple as sweet potatoes taste a thousand times better than any other, always delicious, sweet potatoes is beyond me.
We have been lucky enough to eat at many restaurants with Michelin stars but Georgie is simply out of this world. I wish we had been able to go back for brunch!
We ate the best pasta of our lives, best onion soup, the freshly baked bread (with French butter from the Loire Valley) etc. We savored every, single bite.
The other thing that made the restaurant so incredibly special was that virtually everyone we interacted with was absolutely delightful. The host, our waiter (who looked like a more handsome and much younger George Lucas) and RJ himself who brought us some extraordinary “tastes” (Finnegan ate his first oyster!!!) and we got to talk NBA with. We felt like part of the family by the time we left : )

my husband and I look forward to going to this place every year for our anniversary for the past 4 years and this year made me very sad. Normally, we say it’s a 5/5⭐️. Tonight, we sat in a familiar spot but could not hear each other. Normally, at Georgie, we are greeted with a quiet environment for intimate conversation. Sadly, tonight there was a large party at the bar that had unexpected flash photography causing my husband and I to see stars. After 20 min, the waitress finally greeted us for the first time and we inquired about how long the party would last. There was no true end time & we where told that there is a new chef causing hiccups in the service. The waitress inquired about the large party with her manager but found out that it was suppose to end an hour prior no & has no true end time since it brought in money. After waiting for over 30min to acknowledge our concerns, we decided to leave since we would not be able to hear each other for the entire dinner. My husband and I were very sad to leave a place we go to yearly. Also, we are normally greeted with a glass of sparkling wine but not this time. It was also shocking that after we left, there was no question why we were leaving so soon or follow up. We ended up going down the street to another fine establishment. We were sad about the place we look forward to going to every year, saving our money for, & dressing up for was a bust 🙁

Went here for Brunch and the atmosphere/ service were both wonderful. The lattes were delicious and I loved the scones. Our entrees weren’t my favorite. It’s definitely unique. The egg casserole I ordered had an odd bread texture.

Yesterday, I visited Georgie for the first time to celebrate my birthday with my husband and daughter. We had made a reservation several weeks in advance, and I selected the restaurant based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.
The restaurant is relatively small, and there were many patrons congregating at the bar area. The music was excessively loud, which resulted in guests raising their voices in order to communicate. Due to the noise level, it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation at our table. The situation was so disruptive that a couple who arrived after us decided to leave shortly after being seated, stating that the atmosphere was simply not suitable for them because it was impossible to speak comfortably.
In addition to the noise, the food did not meet our expectations and was quite disappointing. Furthermore, my daughter ordered a pasta with ricotta and experienced severe digestive discomfort later that evening, which raised concerns about food quality.
Overall, our visit was extremely disappointing. What was meant to be a pleasant, celebratory dinner turned into a frustrating and unpleasant experience. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend Georgie, particularly for guests seeking a comfortable dining environment and quality food.

Visited Georgie and enjoyed the tasting menu, first impressions of this spot were on point with their retro chic interior with cozy couches and beautiful recessed lighting. Opted to start with their signature cocktail, The Georgie a picture perfect drink with nice light and bright balance. As for the tasting menu my favorites were the duck and the noodles but all courses were delicious that said for the price I feel like more was expected. I would come back but I’m not sure I’d do the tasting again. Between the wonderful staff and vibes it’s worth it!

I really enjoyed going to Georgie’s, the staff was very attentive, and Robert our waiter was incredible! My friend and I ordered the pink snapper, which was the best fish I’ve ever had in my life. We also got the potato churros with truffle sauce, which were amazing, I could eat them all day! The oysters, we got them dressed and undressed! Both were so so delicious! We finished off with the duck, the flavors were out of this world and very different! Thank you so much for the warm welcoming! I highly recommend everything I mentioned above and also the mushroom kingdom drink.
