I ended coming here as I needed to shop at the Middletown Walmart and as out of the way it is for me, I wanted to try a local restaurant. Curry & Spice had some very good reviews so I came to visit.
It is in a strip mall in the main shopping area in Middletown and easy to find and plenty of parking. The restaurant has more of a contemporary atmosphere compared to many Indian restaurants, but it’s well-lit and very clean. Overall the service was good and the server made sure their tables were taken care of.
For my meal, I went with a kadai paneer. While not my usual choice, it’s tough to find someone who makes kadai curry. To accompany the curry I had a mango lassi and some buttered naan. The kadai was very tasty and the paneer was just right; cooked well with a bit of bounce to the bite and soft on the inside. The veggies cooked with the curry were also very good and the spice level was just right (you can pick your spice level, too). The naan was thinner than typical but I think their preparation was very good. I like the crispiness of the naan and just enough butter. The lassi was also very delicious as well. The prices are also very reasonable for an Indian restaurant as well.
I would love to come here more. Only thing stopping me is that Middletown is usually out of my way for most errands. Other than that, Curry & Spice is a good Indian restaurant for the area.

Highly recommend coming here if you haven’t already. The wait staff has been very nice each time I’ve gone and the right amount of attentive. The second time I went they had a small band playing which was a nice touch.
Their spice level is a little on the higher side so if you are spice sensitive go with mild. To me medium was perfect, but some of the dishes I got spicy and they were still delicious. Their spice also has a depth of flavor so you can actually taste the seasoning on the food and not just the “burn” that spicy food can give.
The first time we ordered the gobi Manchurian it was fried a little too long but the flavor was perfect. The second time it was cooked perfectly and flavor was great. I wish it came with more cucumber because it adds a nice bite if you eat it together but that’s just a personal preference and could probably just ask for more. I’ll probably order this every-time I go. (Hehe)
The paneer saag was a little thick but very flavorful and had plenty of paneer in it.
The shrimp tandoori probably is my favorite so far. Perfectly cooked shrimp on a nice hot skillet. The salmon tikka was good but the salmon had the slightest fishy taste. I’d still get it again but the shrimp will be first choice hands down.
The butter lamb was also delicious and the lamb was nice and tender.
You really can’t go wrong with garlic naan & the rice is plentiful & also seems slightly seasoned? It’s very good though.
Portion sizes are very good and everything is worth the price.

This was the first time we tried Curry and Spice Bar and we will definitely be back. Our waiter was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was modern and clean. We had the vegetarian samosa chaat as an appetizer and then the chicken korma and chicken vindaloo as our main course….. All were excellent. The Indian vibe of the restaurant reminded me of my trips to India, pretty impressive for the middle of Delaware!

This used to be my go to spot. However, over the past year or so, they have been VERY disappointing. The food used to be SO flavorful. It’s just a watered down version now, and they have started putting less chicken in their dishes. As I read some other reviews, I see that they have been experimenting with new recipes. Here’s some food for thought. If it ain’t broke, dont fix it. How you opened is how you got your clientele. There’s no logic behind changing the blueprint. Get back to the basics. I would hate to see such a great restaurant fall.

I ordered the chicken biryani and it was delicious! The rice was perfectly cooked, the spices were balanced just right, and full of flavor. Every bite had that authentic aroma and richness you expect from great biryani. Generous portion, fresh ingredients , and truly satisfying. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

I just ordered this for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! I’m gluten free and loved all of the options available. I went with the tikka masala with extra rice, medium heat. As I write this I’m still feeling the heat; this was the best dishes I’ve had in a while and will be ordering again to try more on the menu!

This place was out of bounds!! Get ready to go to flavor town… for real. My fiance and I enjoyed everything we ordered, it was the best Indian food we’ve had in the area. We dined in, but it seems like most people order to go. I definitely recommend you stay for friendly staff experience, and refreshing cocktails!

We just found this place today and I’m so glad! It seems like so long since we’ve had really good Indian food and this was really good. The samosa chaat is the best thing I’ve tasted in months. Just so good. I had Chole Chana and it was great. I ordered mild and it was. Husband had Chicken Lasooni Kebab. It was also really good. Chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. He had his medium and it was perfect for him. He wouldn’t recommend hot. The naan was great. Everything was just really great. The service was excellent. It is really easy to eat vegetarian here. There is a whole section of the menu. It is not a large establishment so I imagine it would fill up fast during dinner hour so plan around that but otherwise, eat here soon!

I had lunch at this spot on 12/31/22 for the first time and my experience was amazing. First of all the place was very clean, the bathroom was clean and smelled so good, no nasty trash on the floor. The waiter Mya was very nice, all her recommendations were prefect. The food was so good and flavorful. The spice level was just right. I especially enjoyed the samosa. I will definitely be back for more.
