Had two excellent dinners at La Romantica while on our recent annual visit to Malaga. It is a favourite of ours. The serving staff are first class and the food portions are generous while prices are very reasonable. Its location in the Old Town is just slightly away from the main tourist drag and therefore perfect for a quiet meal.

Just below great on every aspect, but I will go back. This might just be a hidden gem near the city center.
The pasta carbonara was really good. Service was friendly, but at times faulty (waiter disappeared, but I think he had many tasks). Price is very fair for the location and quality.
The tiramisu had been sitting in fridge for too long, which to me means they need more clients.. Just go there and try it!

23 October 2025 my wife and I arrived for our meal. We pre booked the table as, after reading the fantastic reviews, we thought we had better reserve a table as they may be fully booked. We ordered the “tagliatelle” but we did not receive any tagliatelle I ordered my wife have ever seen in the many years of eating at Italian restaurants around the world. This was like… fat semi cooked Asian noodles and the sauce… mmm… well not easy to describe. My wife had the one with mushrooms and I think mine was .. tiny bits of salmon in a type of sickly cream type sauce. We were so hungry we would have eaten it all but chose not to as the taste was … not what we are use to. Maybe others would like it but it was definately not for us. Sorry, but that’s just my honest opinion.

This was my first time visiting Malaga, during my stay I went 3x to La Romántica. Absolutely the best restaurant in town.
The food it’s fantastic! The care and attention of the chef and staff made me feel like I was eating at my grandma house.
