So so good! After staying all night in Evansville we decided to scope out this place before heading home. We went in put our names down. The hostess super sweet said it would be 15 to 20 mins no problem we waited in the car. After waiting about 20 mins we went in and boy can I say we are glad we stayed!! The food was amazing and the service was great too! I ordered the BLT on wheat with avocado and German potatoes with a side of the cinnamon roll French toast! The hubby got the Inventor omelet with pancakes and German potatoes and boy was it all amazing!

Short Story:The food is good enough that I remembered the place after a visiting a year ago. Absolute gem.
But if you’re looking to enjoy a casual Sunday brunch, this place might not be for you.
Based on today’s visit, you might expect that your server has someplace else to be…the service needs help.
Longer Story: We arrived about 35min before closing and the server asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat before she sat us at a table. Obviously exasperated, she stood at the table while we took our coats off and asked more hurried questions about what we wanted.
We ordered our food as another couple arrived and got seated in a similar fashion. They had a different server. Their food arrived 4-5min before ours.
The server did not check on us between our order and when our food arrived.
Our server brought the bill with our food, asked if everything looked good and left us to eat for about 5min before checking to see if we were ready to pay the check, though she did ask if our food tasted good.
After 2min she checked in again on the check and asked if we needed anything else.
After another minute or two, she checked in again and I asked for a to go box. She asked again if we were ready and it was enough that I bussed our table to help her on her way.

Awesome place for eating. I’m not local, and usually I like to go to places I haven’t been before over places I know are great, but for breakfast and brunch, this is the only place I’m going for the foreseeable future when I’m in Evansville, IN. Great menu and it’s flexible. If you’re trying this place or returning. Ask for the “off-menu” mochachino by Butch. So good that all six diverse people at the table had to try it and came away with a resounding love for it. These people are really Kool.
Whether you like a Trinity froofy breakfast or real men’s Neanderthal breakfast you’re going to love this place. Great engaging decor.

First time I had eaten here. The staff was friendly and especially patient with me even though I tried to seat myself.(note: please wait to be seated!) I had the avacado and bacon omelet, it was done well. very tasty it came with german style potatoes. I also had a black coffee it was pleasant not too bitter but not weak either. The waitress was very attentive, she made sure my cup stayed full until I had my fill. This was all taking place during the morning rush!, she did an excellent job. The place was very homey and comfy, plenty of folks chatting it up about business and personal stuff the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. I will visit this place again in the future.

Nice little cafe, with a good variety of choices. I got the country Ben- I’m from the south, the country gravy was lacking in flavor, but the biscuit was light and flaky, the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the German potatoes were crunchy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. I also got the bread pudding- it was a unique spin on bread pudding, slightly crunchy outside, with all the soft, creamy goodness was of bread pudding on the inside. Would come here again.

This was our second time visiting Kite & Key and once again they did not disappoint! We had the Farmhouse Breakfast with Country Ham, Traditional Eggs Benny and split a French Toast. Everything was outstanding. The Eggs Benny was the best I’ve ever had, I loved the flavor of the hollandaise sauce! The country ham was huge and flavorful. The French toast, omg. I LOVE French toast so I can be a bit critical, this was great! We also both got something from the coffee bar, an iced vanilla caramel latte and an iced caramel macchiato, also great! I can’t wait to go back again! We went both times early on Sunday morning so it wasn’t busy, although more people dining than what I had anticipated at 7am on Sunday!

This just might be the best breakfast restaurant in Evansville, Indiana. It is easy to find using Google Maps. It is very neatly decorated with an early American theme. The service and staff here are fantastic. You will enjoy many traditional favorites on their breakfast menu or some unique items as well. Parking is easy along city streets with only a short walk.

This is our first time here and we couldn’t have ask for better food or service! The flight of mimosas was excellent and our food was prepared just like we ordered it. Our server Lexi was extremely helpful and kept our drinks filled! We will certainly be back again! The Potters!
