Sometimes you just need a Chinese food fix. That hit us on Monday and we found New Asia. The building is nice, clean, the seating area seemed open and was comfortable, nicely decorated with cultural aspects.

The service was good, very friendly, they checked on us regularly, and we didn’t want for anything. The food was good, not 100% what you would “normally” expect from the usual dishes you get everywhere, but fresh, hot, the chicken was crispy, and the rice was perfect.

Oddities for us / personal preference – the sweet n sour chicken came with a brown sauce compared to the “usual” pink. It had a nice flavor with a very strong honey taste. The general two’s chicken looked “normal” but the taste was a bit different from “usual” (seems ever restaurant is a little different). It wasn’t spicy at all, but was crispy and flavorful. The wonton soup had cabbage in it – different spin, but it was good. The hot n sour soup was very flavorful!

All in all we enjoyed the meal and would go back.

We had a delightful late dinner experience after a long day of dealing with home repairs. We were seated immediately by the friendly host and were soon asked for our order. We ordered hot tea and a selection of dim sum including a bowl of rice, vegetable spring rolls, crab rangoon, bacon-wrapped shrimp, shu mai (pork and shrimp, I’m guessing), and chicken steamed buns. Everything was enjoyable! I savored every sip of the tea which had a bit of a fruity/floral element (jasmine?). Among the dimsum selections the chicken steamed buns were particularly enjoyable to me as they are rarer to find than pork steamed buns (which were also available here) and had a great flavor. The bacon-wrapped shrimp also felt a bit decadent (and also a somewhat rarer option). After dinner we were served orange wedges that were surprisingly sweet as well as the usual fortune cookie, a nice end to the meal that we enjoyed along with the last of the tea in the relaxing, quiet atmosphere. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning!

The most classic and well-done Chinese restaurant in Memphis. Food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Service is quick and friendly. This is my go-to spot when I’m having lunch in Germantown.

Somehow I had a great expectation about this place which was not fully matched. It’s not bad either too. We visited for dinner in a weekday night. The place was not crowded and the service was slow. The server was not very friendly either. I tried some calamari pepper fry and my friend tried some eggplant dish. The calamari fry was more like an appetiser. It was quite dry and difficult to eat just with rice. Maybe it was a bad choice from my end. Another day I ordered some Cantonese style friend chicken with vegetables. It was two chicken breasts fried and tossed in some Cantonese style sauce with vegetables. It was a decent one, however, nothing extraordinary.

The food is always fresh and seasoned well. I enjoy getting dim sum to go or dining in. The staff is kind and efficient. I just wish they’d put the dim sum menu on a food pick up app!

Sweet and Sour Chicken was greasy and very small chicken strips; all breading. Not quality chicken at all. Rolls were greasy also. It’s really like the old joke about the guy who says that the food is bad and complains that the portions are small. Maybe the other dishes are good but the fried stuff was not. Pretty mediocre.

Visited for two consecutive weekends. Everything we ordered was delicious except the squid. We were expecting something like a stir fried squid rather than a deep fried. Overall price was a bit high for 60-70 per two people with 1 shared soup and 3 shared dishes.

It’s crazy this place only has 4 stars. Good dim sum is hard to come by and theirs is awesome. Everything was delicious.

The lunch specials were good and generously portioned. Excellent hot and sour soup and above average won ton soup. Perfect meat filled egg roll. Added pot stickers, always good. I didn’t order the best option, black pepper beef with green beans. Hubby had sesame chicken, which was very nicely prepared.

The food was delicious with large portion. Staff were courteous but a bit slow at getting food and giving us the cheque. The restrooms were surprising clean and well kept.

Overall this was a good find and we will be back to try more food of the menu.
