Social Profile:

Christine’s passion for food and entertaining people has a lot to do for why she is in the food service industry today. Coming from a big family, they’ve held so many parties for different occasions. When she arrived here in the US almost two decades ago, she honed in on her cooking skills, since no one was around to do the cooking. She would always try new recipes and invite friends over to taste her new creations. It gave her satisfaction when friends would rave on how good her food tasted. With a passion for cooking, the knowledge to run a business and the support of friends who are willing and would-be paying customers, why not open a restaurant? That’s when she opened her first restaurant in the North Park neighborhood in Chicago.

Relaxed spot for traditional Filipino cooking & burgers with beer & wine, plus a terrace.

Laaaaa! That’s me singing my praises of Kubo Chicago! It’s perfect for date night, parties, casual dining, and more! They have a fantastic Filipino menu full of the classics and some new twists. The pork was so tender it fell off the fork and the owner offered to chop it up so it’s easier to eat. The pancit was a huge portion and steamy and delicious. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Fun night atmosphere. They do a cool eat with your hands menu for groups. Free parking on the side of the building too!

Amazing food, chill vibe, and really pleasant people. We had a great experience. Loved the garlic rice, and the Longganisa burger is so unique.
We were tempted to try the Kamayan experience, but it requires a minimum of four people. would love to see a smaller, more affordable option

Was here in Chicago for the Marathon. We were craving Filipino food after the race and it did not disappoint. The Kansi soup was delicious especially with the beef shank in it. The Lechon Kawalit was juicy and crunch. They also have Filipino inspired cocktails. Always glad to see a Filipino restaurant out here in Chicago that is also open late! I would definitely come back (especially for the Kansi)

We wanted to try something new and picked Kubo. So glad we did! The food was great! We shared a couple appetizers and a couple entrees and all were flavorful delicious. There was a big party behind us that was getting a family style setup. Everything was set up on the table for them, it was beautiful! It’s a cozy place but the lighting was a little dark for my taste. I had to use my phone light to read the menu.

I really liked the soup and the starters—they were delicious! However, the fish was just okay for me.

To end the meal, the server kindly brought me a complimentary dessert. That was such a sweet gesture—so thoughtful and kind

I have been her twice. They are so accommodating to making sure you are able to eat and still get to your theater showing. The owner ( i think) is amazing. She is so kind, funny, timely and all around great. All of the staff are. They even kept my food and I was able to come back after the show and grab my leftovers. The food is also SO good and the drinks.

Highly recommend!!!!

Best longonisa I’ve ever had and the milk fish was incredible (and I’m not a huge fish lover). Everyone was lovely and the patio is a great atmosphere.

Great, delicious Filipino food! Everything tastes authentic, just like what I’m used to back in the Philippines. Soup was savory and flavorful. Desserts were “not too sweet”, in the authentic Asian style. Fan of the ambience and environment and food, definitely recommend!

French fries dippee in house yum yum sauce is so fricking delicious.

Burger was also great, my wife had vegetarian curry and thought it was divine.

Loved the atmosphere and the service as well. We needed to make a show at The Wit next door and they made sure we got our food and bill in time to not be late. Absolutely loved this place.
