My first time to visit New Zealand with my Mom and glad we got to dine at Chang Siam in Kerikeri. What absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The ambiance is cozy, clean, and welcoming — perfect for a relaxed dining or a special night out.
The food was phenomenal — full of authentic Thai flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and beautifully presented. Every dish was a standout, and you could truly taste the freshness and care in every bite.
What truly elevated our experience was the incredible service, especially from the manager, Mike. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and it’s clear how much pride he takes in both the food and the customer experience. Along with Mike’s lovely team, the service was personal, attentive, and heartfelt.
If you’re in the Bay of Islands and craving authentic Thai cuisine, Chang Siam is a must-visit. Five stars for the food, the atmosphere, and the amazing people behind it. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful atmosphere, we were here on a sunny day and enjoyed the open garden, the service was super considerate and incredibly welcoming and friendly. We were very pleased with the food too, it was delicious and we were also happy about the plentiful chilled water, as we had been for a walk beforehand and arrived here thirsty! Highly recommended!

I have not had such a terrible experience in years. I honestly feel scammed. Got take away “Crispy Chicken stirfry”. Completely bland, unseasoned dry chicken schnitzel (I feel like supermarket defrosted crumbed chicken would be tastier). And comes with a side of disgusting eye waterinly sweet sause with a tonn of onion, frozen peas and canned pineapple. $30 for these horrible, low quality ingredients and poorly put together meal is just so incredible greedy. And the worst part is, they get away with it, since it’s take away and you won’t be returning this junk. Very upset, $60 out and mist of it is going in the garbage. It’s that bad. Dotn eat here, take your money to someone with integrity.

First time visit had dinner was absolutely great. Very busy, the young staff coped extremely well. Was a lovely setting as we were out in the porch overlooking the garden. Definitely recommend go try it.
