Had passed by this place a few times so I decided to stop by. Since it was my first time here I decided to play it safe and order something small. So ordered a small pizza wing and waffle fry combo. And added another drink. Really disappointed with the food overall. The wings were cold and tasted like they were put in the microwave. Not crispy and soggy. The waffle fries also felt the same and I didn’t get any other than the one I tasted. And as for the pizza it felt and tasted like the one you buy at a convenience store when you go on a road trip. But the thing that really topped it off was that both 20oz Coca-Cola bottles were flat and past the expiration date. So I told the guy that the coke was flat and he said “Que es eso” “What does that mean”. So I told him it was expired and he on ok thank you and went about his way. Didn’t Offer to switch it out or anything. Will definitely not be coming back to this or any other picaros. Retraining definitely needs to be done.

Okay listen… I just had the pizza and buffalo wings, and I’m not even being dramatic when I say this they were actually SO GOOD.
The pizza? 10/10. The crust was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just how it’s supposed to be. The cheese was perfectly melted and stretchy, like a legit cheese pull moment. And the sauce?? Tangy, flavorful, and not too sweet or watery—it hit every time. Every bite was giving comfort food heaven.
Now the buffalo wings? OMG. They were SO juicy and tender, and the buffalo sauce had that perfect mix of spicy and tangy, without burning your mouth off. The skin was crispy, not soggy, and it actually had flavor—not just sauce slapped on top. I could’ve eaten like 20 more.
I don’t know what they put in this combo, but it was giving game night, sleepover, comfort meal, best mood booster all in one.

Pícaros Pizza in McAllen never disappoints. The crust is perfectly crispy, the toppings are fresh, and the flavor combinations are on point. You can really tell they care about quality. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the vibe of the place is super chill and welcoming. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, it’s consistently great. Definitely one of the best pizza spots in the Valley, I highly recommend!
