After a funeral, we had a family gathering here to have a chance to sit and relax for a moment and catch up as a family after not seeing each other for a while. I drove over an hour from West Houston to get here. The location is beautiful and overlooks the water and a pool.
Parking was easy as we got there just as they were opening for dinner. I don’t know the required attire, but we were all dressed very nicely in suits and dresses.
The bar was open, and our seating was prepared with two long tables and several chairs. It would have been nice to have more shaded windows as the sun was beaming into the room. But, there’s easy access via an elevator or stairs to make the trek there easier.
We ordered drinks and had a seat, but we’d find the drinks would be the quickest item that we’d get.
We were given water after being seated for about 20 minutes, and then our orders were taken 10 minutes later.
A child spilled a cup of water near the end of the table, and we alerted staff three times over the course of 30 minutes before someone came by with a mop to assist.
I assume they wanted all the food to come out at once because we had about 30 people, and it took 45 minutes to an hour for everything to come out. Some of it was returned to be reheated as it had sat and gotten cold before making it to the table.
What did make it to the table was not what we were expecting. Everyone who ordered pasta, including my wife, said there was no seasoning on it. It was bland with very little taste. My steak medallions were the same and covered in a brown sauce. The chicken was breaded and was also lacking flavor. Whoever was cooking that day was not using salt, pepper, or any basic seasoning, and for these prices, we expected more. The salad I ordered was the best thing I had, and I should have stopped there.
The venue looks really nice, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to the atmosphere. Sadly, they had the wrong person in the kitchen on this day.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The service was great thanks to Sonny! The Lobster risotto, Opus pasta, Crab cake and Bananas foster was decadent! I’ve eaten at restaurants all over the US and abroad, but Opus Bistro is just top shelf! Highly recommended.

We had a birthday dinner at the restaurant. It was a lovely atmosphere with large windows and views of the water. I had the lobster bisque as my starter. It had amazing flavor, although it could have been a lot hotter temperature wise. My main was the red snapper with shrimp and crab. The snapper was hot and delicious, however my shrimp was a bit overcooked but still delicious.
For dessert, we all had the creme brulee. It was outstanding! All in all, a wonderful experience and seamless service.

We went the night before Thanksgiving. We don’t go out often because most places now are so expensive for mediocre food. This place is really nice and worth every penny. The food and the service were excellent. Parking is easy and free. The view is great. I would rather go out once or twice a
month to a nice place like this and skip all the chain restaurants. Its quiet, they have fancy lighted menus, it has luxurious ambiance. We really enjoyed it and will be back.

We booked a table for a Birthday Dinner. When seated, we were asked if we were there for a special occasion, which we had noted during reservation , so no follow through. My mhai mshi was dry, the grits and shrimp were good. The other meals ok.
None of us wanted dessert, but we were waiting for a birthday complimentary something from the restaurant and to sing Happy Birthday. Well Opus does not do something special for a birthday unless you pay AND did not tell us about it. So NEVER go there if you expect something special.

My husband and I dined at Opus for dinner to try their Tomahawk Steak Platter. It was served with large portions of asparagus, roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and whole roasted carrots. It was cooked to perfection and more than we could finish for a very reasonable price. Our waiter, Martin provided exceptional service and made great recommendations. The asparagus dip topped with grilled shrimp and wine pairings were wonderful additions. The view of the harbor was unobstructed and the restaurant was spacious and provided a quiet space with had nice touches such as table lighting and electronic menus. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Tuesday Prime Rib special was excellent. Shrimp scampi was an our choice for pasta and it did not disappoint. Finally, the creme Brule was on of the best I have ever tried. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the fine dining experience.

Atmosphere & service-excellent…I ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Grits …yummy, my husband ordered the ribeye steak medium rare but it was cooked medium well…he said it still tasted good but the vegetables w/ it were kind of bland, also ordered the Creme Brûlée…YUM! Couldn’t finish everything and they packaged everything up for us to go…well me, my husband finished his steak. If you do not like sweet drinks then you will enjoy theirs…i prefer sweeter than what they have but they weren’t bad. The dip for the bread was bitter…would NOT recommend!

Prime rib Tuesday tonight, it’s unfortunate that the prime rib was too bland and chewy (NOT A PRIME CUT)
Lobster tail was overcooked that it was also tough.
Manager was hard to get hold, too busy was the excuse, took a while to show up to credit our promo code.
Wait staff were attentive thanks to Adrian and Cullen at the Bar.
Bar seating too tight also.

Service alone warranted a 5 star review. Ask for Anthony as your waiter. Started off with a Sangria and it was the best I’ve ever had. They soak the fruit for two days. We had the lobster risotto with scallops and the fried asparagus as our appetizers. Both items were top of the line. The 4 entrees we ordered were the chicken marsala, pan fried red snapper, veal new orleans, and the filet. Everything was good except for the Brussel sprouts. They cook it with a vinegar base which makes it bitter. That is the only complaint. The 2 best things we ordered was the filet and the blackened scallops that came with the risotto…these are must order. The desserts were fabulous. The 2 that were the best were the bananas foster and the creme brulee. I love that the manager went by all the tables and asked how everything was.
