TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Quick, friendly, and informational staff. Delicious food. I ordered a slider at a hot spice, and it was the perfect level of spice for me. I also got the top-loaded fries at a medium spice level and the combination if cabbage, kale, pickles, spicy chicken, and fries was amazing. Their Mac and cheese was mid, but I will be coming back for their chicken for sure!

I will say that Dave’s hot chicken gave us a real lesson in not judging a book by its cover. When they first opened I saw people posting photos I didn’t think it looked all that great. But here we are I decided I will decide based on taste and not visual. So I placed my order through the drive through and once it was handed to me my truck was enveloped with this warm smell of delicious spices. I drove the short distance home and sat down to enjoy. I appreciate that they provided a decent amount of pickles because I am a strong believer that chicken and pickles are a perfect pairing. I enjoyed all the flavoring on the chicken and the fries. I will say tho make sure you have a drink because it does get a little salty. ( you have your choice of spice – i started with mild and I am thinking I will try again but go up a level)

Their specialty is juicy chicken sandwiches and tenders with spice levels ranging from mild to the extreme “reaper,” which even comes with a disclaimer. The atmosphere is simple and modern, keeping the focus on flavor and quality. Overall, the food was tasty — we really enjoyed the chicken itself, the sandwich bun was interesting, and the fries were pretty good too.
I would love to give 5 stars, but unfortunately it’s a 4 for a couple of reasons: the menu isn’t very diverse and there’s no Kids Meal option.

Never had Dave’s before. Popped in late on a Tuesday night this week. Only one there. Staff was super friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. Ordered a two-piece, mild, with fries. They cook it when you order it, so it takes a few minutes but it’s fresh. Very good! Mild has a bit of a kick, but I’d still probably go up a notch next time. Fries, fry sauce, pickles were all delicious. I left full.

There can be a bit of a wait depending on how busy they are, but the food always comes out fresh and hot, so it feels worth it. The chicken is super tasty, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the heat levels are legit.
The staff has always been friendly and efficient, even when the place is packed. The location is clean, organized, and well run.

As soon as you walk into the place, it is very well lit. The decorations are so whimsical. We were attended very efficiently. The food is immaculate. I’ve never had chicken that’s tasted this delicious Whoever cooked, my food deserves their cookie ate. I truly will keep recommending this place to all my friends
