I am Shanghainese, and this place is the best authentic Shanghainese restaurant I’ve ever tasted outside New York City. The food is high quality, authentic, and very reasonably priced. The staff are hardworking and helpful. I’ve been coming here ever since they opened and their excellent taste and quality continue to remain the same. Many of the staff are the same faces I see every time I return as well!
The space can sometimes be busy and crowded due to the restaurant’s small size, but not in an uncomfortable way. It’s a very lively and cozy feeling. Lots of times there is a line, especially around lunch and dinner time, so make sure to come early or at off-hours if you want to get ahead of the wait!

The best restaurant I have been to in a while. Not only was the service great, but so was the food! It came quickly, was fresh, and delicious! The portion sizes are amazing as well. Highly recommend the beef scallion pancake and Golden Lava Buns for dessert.

These are the best xiao long bao 小笼包 in New Jersey! When you come get the pan fried pork buns, soup dumplings! Can’t go wrong with their noodles and chive boxes too. Extremely cheap, we got 4 dishes for 40 dollars after tip!! There’s always a huge line so prepare to wait or try to get here when it first opens or right before dinner. Please tip well, we love this place

Small seating area with less than 10 tables that each table could accommodate up to four people. Expect wait time during busy hours. Very delicious soup dumplings and the price for the portion is reasonable. Staff are attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended for authentic Shanghai dumplings!

Expected to wait a while, especially during lunch hour, but we were lucky and promptly seated. We were very pleased with the quality of the food, as well as the speed and quality of the service. It is a cozy restaurant, so be prepared to maybe squeeze in between people to get to your seat. Would highly recommend the beef noodle soup.

The short wait on a Thursday afternoon is worth it. The most authentic soup dumplings in the area coming from a native Shanghainese. The prices are more than fair and the taste is delicious. Strongly recommend!

Definitely the best Shanghai food in central Jersey. This place is very small and we had to wait in line for 30 mins outside in the cold on a friday, but the wait is worth it. Beef scallion pancake, Hot Sesame noodles, pan fried pork bun all 10/10. Spicy minced pork pan fried udon is fire.

Very good food!! I think it really has a solid taste that conveys the Chinese food they want to present to you. I mainly eat the pork buns and the Shanghai dumplings. I recommend those because their effort is clearly presented there. I don’t know about anything else. The service is ok, I won’t judge too harshly because they have lots of customers so its difficult. The atmosphere I would not say is fitting because there is a lack of seats. I understand that they want to convey a traditional and authentic Chinese atmosphere, but I need seats.

Absolutely delicious. This is some of the best food i’ve had in a while and I’ve tried a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Washington Capitol Region.
Would recommend the Beef Scallion Pancake, Pork Juicy Buns, Pan Fried pork buns, and egg yolk shumai.

This was our second visit within a few years, passing by from NYC to Maryland/DC. Anyway it is close to NJTP, and most reviews are very positive. However our experience was okay food quality at a reasonable price. I agree with the other reviewer, there are many better alternatives in this greater area.
