This is a great addition to Sumner. The outdoor courtyard with the fire pit and bar sets a welcoming atmosphere that Sumner needed. The food has been delicious, drinks as well. Service has been rocky but it has improved every time I’ve returned. Be prepared to take home food because the servings are very generous making the cost worth while.

Showed up at 8:15 knowing they are open until 9 and we’d be respectful and eat quickly so they could get home. They told us the kitchen had already been cleaned and they weren’t serving anymore; don’t trust their “open” hours.

Great addition to Sumner! Visiting from out of town and La Encanto will definitely be on my list of stops from now on. Food was way above expectations, plenty of protein of entrees and margaritas are worth the money The staff were also very nice and attentive.

Love this place! Food is excellent – the salsa is addictive and the chips are warm!! The only thing i wish- it’s loud!!!! I wish the place was bigger but when the food is this good who cares
Definitely going back
This was my first review but recently now the last 2 times the food is poor unless you want an onion and green pepper burrito. Seriously the last 2 meals had almost no protein just onions. My last was the super burrito and people at the table were saying-“is that all that’s in there?” Yes!! Plus some rice
And the wait staff is always nice but tend to just stay at the register and talk. Sad deal I really liked this place

Geo, our waiter seated us and greeted us with a smile and our entire experience got better and better Food was excellent atmosphere was great and the service was 10 stars not 5. This family run restaurant is the best thing to happen in Sumner Iowa. In 100 years. I will go back every time I’m in town.

We love Mexican food and have been to several places across the states. This rates with the best of them… fresh made, good service, good taste, just the right amount of heat. Liked the Fajita Volcan. Don’t the outside fool you. Worth the drive. Very casual. Good prices.

Good place for a traditional Mexican meal. We ordered cheese dip with our chips and salsa and while tasty, it was cold. We ordered several items – fajitas, chimichangas and tacos/quesadillas. All were very good and plenty of food. Appreciated having the option of a smaller “lunch” portion even at dinner time.

Atmosphere was good for a small place but tables are quite close together so a little loud when busy. Service was attentive but hard to track who was our server as we had several folks stop by our table.

No complaints and would definitely visit again.

The chimi was tiny and was not fried to crispiness, so by the time you add the cheese sauce it became a soggy burrito.

We ordered the carne asada and the two burrito dishes and both were very disappointing and just not worth what we paid. The carne asada was half fat and grizzle and there was no pico. The two burrito dish was literally chicken (seemed to be canned chicken) and ground beef in tortillas covered in sauce and lettuce. And to top it all off, the chips were fried in rancid oil which meant they tasted awful. This was a takeout order.
