My husband ordered the land and sea(he chose crab cakes)
I ordered the cauliflower on gouda mashed potatoes plus 2 crab cakes and veggies. I also had the blackberry mojito.
For dessert we had the creme brulee & the bananas foster.
All very good & actually the best sides veggies I’ve ever had! Nice & garlic-y
Presentation was beautifully done.
From the moment we stepped inside, the hospitality set the tone. The host greeted us with genuine enthusiasm and an ease that made it clear he knew exactly why we were there. His warmth felt celebratory without being performative, just right. We were led to our table and introduced to Iesha, whose presence defined the evening.
Iesha guided us through the menu with confidence and care, highlighting a thoughtful anniversary tradition: a complimentary glass of champagne or crème brûlée. We happily chose both. She struck that elusive balance of attentiveness and restraint present when needed, graciously invisible when not allowing the evening to unfold at its own pace.
Our table sampled a range of the menu. The rare curry-seared local tuna arrived with curry riced cauliflower and traditional accompaniments unexpected in flavor but satisfying nonetheless. The The special for that evening, was rich and comforting. Even the simplest order, the kids’ shrimp and fries was met with enthusiasm from our youngest diner, always a good sign.
Aqua delivers food that is thoughtful, distinctive, and well-suited for a celebration. It’s the kind of place that feels special without trying too hard a reliable choice for marking a meaningful moment. And when you go, do yourself a favor and ask for Iesha. She’s the kind of server who turns a good dinner into a memorable one.
the egg roll was awesome. stuffed with eastern NC bbq and kimchi, then deep fried. perfect balance of flavors.
Shrimp and grits made perfectly. creamy grits seasoned with salty ham, topped with large shrimp. although it’s an entree this makes a great appetizer to share.
both small plates and big plates are individual entrees.
Sea and Share is good. the filet was a little more charred on the outside than i like. the semi glaze went well with the Grouper.
the dining room is small and has both indoor and covered porch seating. I’m not a fan of the booths, so you may want to request a table.
free parking with validation on the parking app.
$9+ charge for using credit card.
fantastic service. staff is personable, did a great job explaining the menu, and provided good recommendations.
Free bread – soft, warm, and perfect for soaking the olive oil/balsamic dip; not crusty.
Quinoa salad bite – complement; light and no strong opinions.
Saffron poached pear – liked the poached pear texture; not much, if any, saffron flavor; main green was spinach and the vinaigrette was sweet; love sweets and no problem cleaning my plate, but I almost feel like they should move this to the dessert section.
Duck confit – delicious; great crust on the duck leg and gratin; meat easily separated from bone.
Dessert sampler – mini banana foster, chocolate mousse, and creme brulee; they were all good; banana foster had a show; i like chocolate and a bit more texture variety, so I recommend the mousse.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. They’ve got a really good drink menu and I highly recommend the 47 Ronin. I went with the noodle bowl and a combination of shrimp and scallops and it was excellent. Don’t forget the dessert trio too. The banana’s foster is to die for and they make it table side.
