Wednesday is Torta special day for 8.95 and need to try it.
Entered the location at about 10AM on a Sunday. They weren’t terribly busy, a table eating, a person waiting for their togo order, and I stood at the counter for about 7 minutes before someone greeted me and about 10 total to be helped out. The window into the kitchen showed people were working, wrapping up breakfast – likely for online orders. No problem.
When I tried to place my order, a Breakfast Burrito with egg, chorizo and potato, I was met with the standard price – $6.69 as listed on their menu – AND a “Custom Amount” for three dollars. When I asked if the addition of potatoes was really $3, it was dropped to $2. Notably, there is nothing on their menu letting you know how much substitutions or additions are so this was an extra fun surprise. And, in talking to the person charging me, it was chalked up to a misunderstanding, that it was just extra. Rather than argue or complain, I just paid it because I was hungry.
Looking online, which I’m not sure is entirely their fault, all of the online services that offer delivery are inconsistent on listing and prices as well, making it all the more difficult to know what you’re going to get and what you will pay for.
Now for the food itself. My burrito was hot, tasted good, but ultimately was a big mess. The wrapping of the tortilla is not tight, no seal is created, and there’s no real easy way to lift it up without it opening up and falling apart. Maybe this is a one-off, maybe it’s because I wanted a few potato chunks in there, but it really wasn’t a fun experience.
In total, the food is tasty but not very well put together or presented, the service is lacking and confusing, the prices (or policies) are not exactly honest or clear. I probably won’t be going back and I wouldn’t recommend Dos Bros to others.
Our order took long to receive and they gave my boyfriend’s taco plate to another customer. I saw when she walked it back to the window and they literally placed it on the tray and walked it back out to serve to our table.
The food was bland and nothing was extraordinary or stood out. I tend to judge places by their rice and beans and they were not good. Barbacoa is mushy and salty, the sopes were fresh but lacked flavor and my daughter’s nacho chips were stale.
The tables were sticky and had that “dirty” feel and so did the floors. Maybe they don’t pay attention too much when cleaning between customers.
This sucks because we saw a TikTok about this place and we had high expectations but will not be back.
I ordered 2 chorizo and egg tacos and 1 bacon and egg taco.
Immediately upon delivery there was an extremely foul odor. The eggs(questionable) seemed as if they were cooked days ago and included hard pieces and the texture was so off I am not even sure if this was eggs— emitted strong rotten smell. I didn’t even feel comfortable giving to my dog. I have ordered from this place in the past and have not had this food safety experience so I’m not sure what has changed with this place.
Unsatisfactory experience— I’ve submitted a photo
I’m French and currently living in NYC but have had my fair share of Mexican food. I stopped into this little Mexican restaurant during a short trip to Texas and was amazed.
The food was delicious, very flavorful, and generous. The homemade tortillas were excellent. The tacos were the best I’ve had. Also make sure to try their menudo dish it’s very good The salsa verde was perfect !
On top of that the staff was very nice and welcoming
I recommend everyone stop and enjoy this fantastic and authentic Mexican restaurant
