We were traveling free and easy. My hubby didn’t know this shop. However I thought it looked delicious, so I requested him and backed about a mile and we went in.

Staff were friendly, helpful, engaged with our questions and food orders. Quick to fill the orders. 1 meat, 2 sides plate orders…good size slices of beef brisket and plenty. The pull pork was great too. Really tasty meat and sides, and try the peach cobbler. Really good country BBQ. Will stop back again.

Darn good BBQ. This is Texas BBQ. No muss, no fuss, just good food. Me and my wife are camping at Daingerfield State park and popped in to try it out. Friendly service and they don’t skimp on portions. If you are in the area go get you some!

The good: the place was clean, service was friendly enough, my wife had smoked chicken sandwich and said that it was pretty good. The sides were okay, not the best I’ve ever had.
The bad: The brisket was in the top five worst I’ve ever had. It was incredibly dry, chewy, and I couldn’t finish it even after drenching it in bbq sauce. It was more like a dry roast beef. The ribs were overly sweet and while edible, really not worth mentioning.
If I was basing this on the meat alone, it would be one star. Because of the cleanliness and service, I gave it two, but I don’t typically go to barbecue joints for the cleanliness and service, so I think I’m being generous.

I am a new fan as of today. I have cooked BBQ in two different styles for decades. It is rare to see pulled pork taken to the next level with a super finely chopped sandwich. I’ve seen the chopping done with meat grinders. Outlaw staff took it to that level which is amazing to get it that special for every serving. Bravo Well Done!
