We’ve gotten take out from many Chinese places in Catonsville but Hunan joy is by far the best. We had gotten food from them years ago and it wasn’t the best. We were thinking it was new management and decided to try again. We’ve gotten food from Hunan Joy about 5 times in the last few months and have been very pleased with everything . Absolutely recommend the shrimp egg foo young and some of the sushi rolls. Very fresh and delicious!

This is our favorite local place for takeout. The food is delicious, and they offer great options. They have speedy service and nice staff. The building doesn’t look great, but don’t judge a book by its cover. We eat here regularly, and we always enjoy it!

Was expecting better based on reviews, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The rice was very dry and the chicken we believe was just their sweet and sour chicken with general tso’s sauce on it. The pu pu platter was fantastic!!

It’s my first visit & order, and I really liked this place. The staff is friendly, great customer service. I ordered tuna sushi, schezwan chicken, shrimp fried rice, and they’re all delicious!
The order was delivered very quickly. With the pandemic, the staffs were wearing a mask. Overall, it’s a great Chinese restaurant!

This is my go-to Chinese place. I drive out of Baltimore to get it whenever I want Chinese food. Food is always delicious, ready fast, and they are always super nice. Parking lot is a little tricky if you try to go out the side entrance and you time the light wrong, but that is literally the only ‘negative’ – and that might just be me because I stress about weird things

Definition of a hole-in-the-wall take out food joint. Only ordered the sushi and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish. I really wanted some special rolls and it’s one of few places nearby open on Sundays for lunch. Some of it wasnt to my personal taste preference, the spicy crab mix is too sweet for example (again totally a personal opinion), so except for the oily and soggy baked volcano roll, everything was nicely prepared and very reasonably priced for what you get. Now in have a better sense of what I like, I’d definitely go back.

I came here for the sushi today, and oh man, was it to die for! Made fresh while we waited, the presentation and taste was exquisite! I definitely recommend this little place, however, I suggest carrying out. The building doesn’t seem to have heat, and it was colder indoors than outside, probably from the recent cold snap and below freezing temps at night. So, we did freeze while we ate, but the food was still worth it.
