I walked in and was immediately mind blown seeing they had squeeze butter on every table. Why? What is it for? What kind of Mexican food after served requires butter on tap? I didn’t want to seem uneducated so I pulled out the phone and started asking friends but nobody knew.. I posted pictures of it on social media like a bat symbol calling batman and admitted I was out of my league and needed anyone at all to tell me what it was for, but nobody knew.

By the time my food came I had to put the research requests on hold and find out what I was about to eat.. would it need a pound of butter?

The food was amazing as prepared, and needed nothing added other than a little salt on the chips, as expected anywhere.. the fajita beef had an enjoyable and unique seasoning and was as tender as butter..

While eating I enjoyed looking at an endless amount of decorations that all prompted many questions and an incredibly enjoyable experience..

I don’t want to ruin it for any of you brave souls seeking delicious food and an enjoyable experience, so I won’t tell you what the happy and helpful waitress said to answer any of my questions. I will let you find your own questions to ask and can assure you they will probably have an answer or two for you.

All in all it was really fun to observe and wonder, and don’t overlook or miss the mural behind the bar of a beautiful lake with slimer from the ghostbusters holding the handlebar with his teeth and riding the water like a champion.

Staff is overwhelmed restaurant had empty tables throughout and yet the server we had was serving us and other tables across the building. I was treated as if I was a child on the end of the table not having our chips filled for nearly 20 minutes.
As the food came out I ordered a pablano chilli relleno had to be the smallest I’ve ever seen we are use to ordering this as the pablano pepper is always the biggest versus other restaurants. My drink had went empty the server walked passed our table numerous times to not ask if I needed the refill she brought Togo boxes out and tried to take my plate from me. I explained can I at least get a refill? The server then went to retrieve the refill I had been waiting on for nearly 30 minutes.

Me and my gal pal went here to celebrate our birthdays together. Clean parking lot and clean restaurant interior. Staff warm and friendly. Server was slow. To clarify, the Kitchen wasn’t slow, our waiter/server was slow. We went a little later for dinner on a weekday evening and it wasn’t packed or very busy. The food was really good and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Since we were celebrating, we tasted several different appetizers, desserts, and each had a main entrée. We took a lot home lol. I would recommend if you’re looking for a casual Tex-Mex dinner. Overall experience was very pleasant and we enjoyed our evening celebration.

Well I’ll be honest , I was not expecting to love this place! From the outside it looked like a cliche Tex Mex location with too many jalapeño characters on the wall. Which is not a bad thing but just not my thing. But the wife said we should try it out and give it a chance. I’m glad we did!

We ordered the combo fajitas and sopapillas for dessert. They were really good. The fajitas were perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. The rice and beans were average but to be honest rice and beans are always average lol. I wasn’t a fan of the table sauces but I asked for a hotter hot sauce and they brought one out that didn’t disappoint. Let me not forget about the tortillas, I should have known I was in for a treat when I had seen the butter at the table when we sat down.

Now the best part of this experience was the service. Caitlyn did an amazing job ! We thank you for such great service.

Overall I highly recommend this location and it has taught me to never judge a book by its cover!

I don’t know why this location can’t get their act together, but the multiple times we’ve had to walk in after waiting at the drive-thru just to find the staff on their phones at the end of the bar and our food ready to go would make any rational person want to cuss them out for their work ethic. Don’t bother stopping in either to sit down, the meals have become mediocre and give Jalapeño Tree a bad rap compared to other locations.

I’ve eaten here a couple times, each time the food tasted like the microwave tv dinners and chimichangas from the Walmart frozen section, and it was not like that at the Jacksonville location. Here at the Palestine location I waited an hour during a non-busy time for the waiting staff to start at my table, I didn’t have a drink on my table until an hour and 20 mins after I walked in and didn’t get my food until 2 hours after I walked in. The only times I’ve been served right were by soph, and I just learned they fired her recently which is why I’m choosing to share my experiences now. She used to pick up all the available shifts when her lazy coworkers called in, she was THE hardest working person there, yet they fired her. This place needs better quality, service, and management because they have no clue who to fire.

It was Sunday Jan 19th, I can in just after 12:00 and requested a booth. One was just being cleared and when the female hostess was about to seat me the lady that ended up being my waitress adv her that the booth I was going to be seated in was being moved to 108. So my wait would be even longer. I decided to sit at the high top table closest to the window. The lady that was my server, long blond ponytail in a blue shirt. Took my order. I had to ask the young man at the bar for chips and hotsuace after waiting about 10 min. The chips I did get were cracked and crumbs. The food came out had to ask for silverware and napkins. The waitress has only visited my table once in the whole time i have been here and that was bringing me a fresh glass of tea.

I now have been sitting here waiting for my check about 25 min. Plate is neatly stacked on the other side of the table. Watching the goings on. I’m not sure of the grooming standards at J-Tree but the gentleman in the pink shirt at the hostess station should have a neater haircut. He is the first thing customers see as they step into the restaurant. Hair that goes down to his top lip and hands in pockets leaning on the table behind him is not a good look.

Visited at 2:45 pm. Service was horrible. Waited about 20 minutes and had to finally find someone to take our drink order. Waitress never made eye contact or smiled. Disappeared for long periods of time. Don’t let the “fast food” atmosphere fool you, the prices are from a five star restaurant. The fajita meat had a weird flavor and texture. The queso is good as are the chips. The chicken fajita burrito is good. I won’t be going back. Bad service. Very expensive. $83 was ridiculous.

Our expectations weren’t very high as this is a chain Tex-Mex restaurant & we’ve also visited other locations & weren’t impressed by any means at all. However, sooo glad we decided to stop by & give them a try since we were in town anyway. I couldn’t rate the food any better, the atmosphere was so enjoyable to look at while waiting for our food, (which came sooner than expected) & there’s just not enough words to express how AMAZING our server was! Jonna was so friendly, on the ball, never made us wait for anything, very knowledgeable to any questions we had… I swear this girl had roller skates on! I was also impressed to see 2 managers appear on the floor & 1 even came by & asked us how everything was. We were also impressed when we got the check at how reasonable it was. When we left, we were thanked not only by Jonna, but the manager & the guy making the flour tortillas! We will definitely be back! Thanks!

I really just came here to say my waitress was gorgeous. Girl with with the feather hand tattoo with bracket in the purple shirt today 10/18 beautiful lol. I’d have asked her out if I wasn’t with my mom and sister.

Foods decent. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because the beef and chicken in the fajitas is processed instead of fresh meat as with other Mexican restaurants. But the green and red sauce was great for dipping.

If the beef/chicken were real and not processed I’d have given 5 stars. Still delicious.

Hard to beat Crockett’s Mexican.
