Down-home restaurant serving Southern food & sweet tea in an 1870s building with a bar & patio.

So I want to say 303 ten years ago to now has gone down tremendously. The host seemed less than thrilled to be there. The food is bad…. My chicken ffor my salad was so dry… The dressing was sour!!! I spent 27 on a Caesar salad for it to be bad. And even though they are trying to make things look like a fine dining restaurant, well that look goes down when you have the first face people see as they walk in on her phone. Im watching food die in the window as the host is more worried with her phone then actually helping the restaurant. So sad

The food was good but not outstanding, needed more seasoning. For the price we paid the portion sizes were very small. I hope it’s not all their servers but the one we had knew absolutely nothing about the Menu. No Chef specialties, no customer favorites, not even one recommendation. The server was attentive and the establishment was clean with a good vibe. I’ve heard good things about this place and maybe my visit was just a one off, but i do think that the servers need to be able to recommend dishes to the customer’s. It shows them that the food is great, or if you can’t say anything about the food it shows that you wouldn’t eat or haven’t eaten the food there.

We had dinner on a Tuesday at 630 – no wait, quiet, and quick service. Three of had the half size walnut salad with additions (grilled shrimp for 2, ahi tuna for the other). It was delicious! I had comeback on the side for my shrimp and balsamic on the salad – perfection! The salad also came with two slices of toasted, seasoned French bread. Our cocktails were also great – mine was the Jefferson. Our other friend got the French Dip on Gambino bread with horseradish sauce – it was huge and he took half home. He said it was spicy, so ask for it on the side unless you are like me and LOVE the heat. His side of sweet potato fries was huge and delicious. It was so nice to be able to talk and hear each other while we enjoyed the perfect weather. The downtown Clinton vibe is so cute and safe. All in all a great choice and we will be back!

Our first time here, and I’d say we’ll be back. We drove 30 minutes because we wanted to try something new, and this place didn’t disappoint! The food was on point. The drinks were delicious. And our server, Ruby, did a fantastic job. We are beyond pleased with our first experience.

Fourth time visiting 303 now, first time reviewing. I think I’ve been hoping with each visit, the previous reviews I’ve read, and my previous visits, would be proved wrong. I want so badly to give 5 stars for local, non chain locations…and although I’ve enjoyed my food on each visit, it is because I have learned HOW to be a patron here. SO, here are the rules I follow to have an ok experience here:
1. be prepared for a drink or food item on the menu to not be available (have a backup already in mind)
2. Avoid main entrees and sandwiches (based on several other reviews with pics included, these typically will not be worth the money they cost you)
3. Order appetizers and salads to share (you will get the most bang for your buck, and decent quality, by doing this)
4. Always order your next beverage BEFORE you actually run out of the first, even if you are the ONLY table in the restaurant. (For whatever reason, based on my experiences and those of other reviewers, no matter what, the service is always incredibly slow. Expect 20-30 mins for any drink to be delivered. Plan ahead and you’ll be good.)
On this trip, 2 items I ordered were out. One being a drink that is on their menu and the other being an appetizer on the menu. It’s just a normal thing here. It has happened to me on all 4 visits now over the past year. And they are not going to change that. Expect it to happen and you won’t be too disappointed. Plan for slow service. Maybe don’t go if you may possibly need to get out the door in a timely fashion or want your drink/food in a reasonable timeframe. Set your expectations to mediocre and you will probably be satisfied with your experience.

Nice little place that I am just now starting to discover in my hometown. Our waitress (Jill) was patient and kind. Overall, great experience.

I do not leave many reviews. However, this restaurant is overpriced. 1lb of crab claws is $10 according to the average for MS. 1lb. We maybe had 3oz and it cost $17 the bowl was mostly spring mix. The bow noodles plus 4 shrimp(add on) was $29, 4 shrimp were $10. There were not really any vegetables in the pasta. Burger was just ok. The front door doesn’t close completely. So if you go ask to be away from it, it IS still cold out. I got up multiple times to close it completely. The wait staff was decent so I tipped 15%. This was not a meal worth almost $100

My mom and I were in Clinton for a pottery class and dined at 303 Jefferson afterward. We ordered the crab claws as an appetizer, which took 25-30 min to make it to our table. They tasted freezer-burned and like they had been fried for too long because it was hard to pull the meat off.
My mom wanted to order the pork chop, but our waitress said they were out of pork chops, so she ordered the filet instead, cooked medium. I ordered the “Smoked Ribeye Cheesesteak: House smoked and shaved thin, smothered w/ grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms and our own cheese sauce. $17.50”
After waiting 30+ more minutes, our food finally comes. My mom’s $37 filet was thin and overcooked to well done and my “cheesesteak” was not smothered in grilled onions and had NO cheese! When I asked our waitress about it she said, “Oh, we are out of cheese sauce. I can bring you a slice of pepper jack if you’d like.” The meat did not taste like smoked ribeye but more like dog food. And the bread tasted like it had been old and microwaved because it was hard to chew. After taking 2 bites of the $17 sandwich, I decided I couldn’t eat anymore.
After tip, this meal cost $120 – we will never return.
