A wonderful lunch after attending the Gem show. The turkey sandwich with jalapeños sliced, romaine lettuce, fresh grown tomato, Monterey Jack cheese, and apricot mayonnaise along with the sweet potato fries is absolutely delicious!
My husband got the jumbo shrimp basket and he said it was very good. We highly recommend this place. Along with the amazing food and service you can’t find a better view!!

The Fowl Play Pub is one of our favorite regular spots, but seeing it transformed into The Peppermint Pub has been really special. The staff are always so friendly and hardworking, and the food and drinks never disappoint. Bravo, Switzerland Inn & Chalet Restaurant!

My visit to the Terrace at the Switzerland Inn was very disappointing. I had been so looking forward to this stop and the views are breathtaking. The weather was beautiful on the sunny day. I highly recommend stopping to take in the views but do not recommend dining here.

Only the Terrace Dining was open the day I was there but you’d think that would bring great views. I was seated against the hotel building and my view was of another building without turning my chair to the views. It was very slow there and there were plenty of open tables with amazing views. I never understand why restaurants put solo diners in the less than ideal tables. I should have changed tables or sat myself like other guests did.

I had read about the prime rib plate and although pricey at $42 decided to go with what they were known for. When my food was brought out I was told that they were out of the prime rib plate and that I was brought out the prime rib sandwich instead. What?

So if they were out of what I ordered why was I not informed after I ordered or asked what I would like to order instead? Then to bring another item with prime rib if they are out of prime rib doesn’t make much sense. Then I overheard someone at another party ordering the prime rib plate and he was not told they were out of it.

So what likely happened was the waitress put my order in wrong and instead of correcting it came up with the lie to try to cover up her mistake. She was also supposed to check on me to see if I liked it but never did. When I did see her again I told her it wasn’t good then she said that she was happy I liked it. That is not what I said at all. Dishonesty is not a good trait .

What I was brought was disgusting. I’m not sure what was worse, the soggy bread, thin pot roast that was flavorless, covered with cheese and onions. And they charged $24 for that sandwich. My side of mashed potatoes were cold. I’m not sure if they forgot to reheat them after taking them out of the refrigerator.

I will never dine at the Switzerland Inn again after the awful service and food. They don’t value solo diners here.

The lack of respect is disappointing that they think it is ok to treat anyone this way. This restaurant needs to hire better waitstaff or properly train them so that they can put orders in correctly and if a mistake is made, he or she corrects the mistake rather than lie about it.

I do hope the restaurant can correct the issues with service as there is a lack of it and the quality and temperature of the food served needs to be fixed.

Space is very cool, a bit dated, but still very nice. Service was a bit slow, and started off very slow. They are obviously short-staffed. But the staff there did care and did their best to accommodate. The food was very good.

The food there is so good! We loved the Mediterranean plate, the cobb salad was good, and the steak sandwich too. Get some aperol spritz, it was so refreshing. The mountain view is simply breathtaking. Service was amazing, and the place is clean and great for a family lunch, a date, or even just some alone time.

Gorgeous, DELICIOUS, OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!
Not sure what I was more impressed with here the location, food or wonderful staff.

From the moment you walk in and you get to see the view you are blown away. . We sat outside and the breeze was perfect.
We ordered the pretzel with cheese and mustard and the pretzel itself was warm and delicious, the cheese was a little cold needed to be melted a little more but it was delicious.
Swiss Onion soup was delicious and perfect. The lobster bisque flavor and texture was perfect but it was cold.
The pecan crusted trout was incredibly delicious and crispy. I wish it had a different side but it was still yummy to have veggies. Turkey sandwich was incredible and the bread being pressed was a nice touch. The chicken salad with fruits was also delicious and nice portion.

Our waitress was Susan and she is incredible although she thought I was my husband’s mother I will not hold it against her hahaha!! Hubby really loved that.
Restrooms were nice and clean.

1st off: RESERVE A TABLE! This is so easy thru Google. Do not skip this step! Food was excellent, pricing was about average for a nice restaurant. The view is to die for! Parking can be a bit of a challenge in this area.

Used to love this place before the new management. Sat down at the Pub restaurant and waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table or even acknowledged us. They gave us water but never refilled even after an hour and 15 minutes. We ordered as soon as our waitress came over and waited an hour and 15 minutes for food. The restaurant was not crowded nor was the bar and yet service was incredible slow. They brought out food we hadn’t ordered because they were out of what we ordered without giving the option to change what we wanted. The food was alright but not what it used to be. It took 30 minutes to get a beer from the time ordered, they brought the beer halfway after already done eating and it seemed as if our waitress had to pour the beer herself. Our poor waitress was by herself and taking care of every table in the restaurant although other staff were walking around doing what seemed like nothing. This place seems to have been sold to a company that really does not prioritize service. Can’t speak on the hotel but I would say avoid the restaurant if you want a decent experience. It’s unfortunate because I’ve been here multiple times with exceptional service but now it seems not worth it…. It also seems like we weren’t the only ones genuinely shocked at the experience. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and really don’t blame our server but I’m sure one could find much better places to eat. This place needs to staff properly and take care of the staff so they aren’t in this terrible situation.

Big big fan of this place. We ate in the bar, great decor and atmosphere. They were a little short staffed but it wasn’t too bad. They had 20 beers on tap including some really good North Carolina microbrews. The onion soup was very good, not too salty. The bacon appetizer is a 12 out of 10. Best appetizer I have had in years. The Alpine Club salad I got had ham and turkey and cheese on it and was wonderful. Would definitely eat here again hopefully in the restaurant with mountain views next time!
