I went here last weekend and had a fabulous time! The restaurant itself is a work of art. Everything from the tables, to the light fixtures, to the bathrooms is gorgeous. We got seated at a table in the bar with super comfy chairs. We ordered a calamari appetizer and then I got the braised beef pasta dish. The food was divine! Our server was very knowledgeable about both the drinks and food. He mentioned that he had created the drink menu which was neat. The espresso martini was delicious, too. It’s expensive but worth it for a fancy evening. I love this place and will definitely be back. Adding all of the photos that I remembered to take

This was, without a doubt, the best fine dining experience I’ve ever had. Ryan, the General Manager, took hospitality to an entirely new level. His ability to engage in meaningful conversation and truly understand what guests are looking for is exceptional. I’ve dined at many high-end restaurants and spent a significant amount at fine dining establishments, but Ryan stands out as the best I’ve encountered. Casa Don Alfonso did an outstanding job hiring him. I will absolutely be returning to St. Louis—and to Casa Don Alfonso—thanks to Ryan’s remarkable service. The impeccable food, along with the impressive selection of champagnes and fine liquors, was the perfect added bonus

I arrived the hotel in a cold rainy day between lunch and dinner, not expecting much from the Aperitivo menu—just hoping for something warm to fill an empty stomach. The bartenders were very accommodating and even found a soup in the kitchen that wasn’t on the menu. The tomato basil soup was delicious, the eggplant panini and side salad were fresh and flavorful, and the tiramisu with a glass of white wine made for a perfect finish. I’d be happy to return to this restaurant again.

I hosted a birthday dinner, it was six of us at a nice booth type table. I ordered the Red snapper and a fruity mojito cocktail, soooo delicious. The fish was so tender and seasoned and the cocktail was magnificent! All of my guests loved their food and drink choices.

The restaurant is more than fine dining, it’s an experience. The service is at a whole level above anywhere else. We had an exquisite experience and the food is art. Everything was beautifully played and nothing disappointed. It was a pleasure to meet the owner and to see he visited every table…that is what is missing in nearly every other restaurant and others should take notice. What a beautiful location and no detail is overlooked. The service staff are professionals and are easy to talk to about the menu as well as any dietary needs. We were visited often but never in an annoying manner.

For the price of breakfast, Casa Don Alfonso needs to up its game.
We arrived Sunday morning around 9:00, and the service was excellent—prompt, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The waitstaff delivered true five-star hospitality, which set expectations high.
My iced macchiato was excellent, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was delightful—though at $15 a glass, there was some serious sticker shock (that one’s on me).
Unfortunately, the buffet didn’t live up to the setting or the price. The eggs were runny, the pastries—including pancakes and waffles—were overly dry, and the hot items were lukewarm at best. For what’s being charged, the food quality and execution should be far better.
On the upside, the atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing, making it a pleasant place to linger. That said, ambiance and great service can only carry things so far. At this level, the food needs to match.
Overall: exceptional service and a lovely setting, but the breakfast buffet falls short. For the price, I expect better.

We were a party of 12 dining here on Saturday February 21 for my mother’s 99th birthday. 9 people in from out of town from as far as California and all looking forward to a very special meal. Had a 7PM reservation made several weeks earlier but unfortunately the party at the table before us decided to linger and linger. Understand that management can’t do anything about that and the hostess, to her credit, offered us the first round of drinks on the house. Unfortunately, the first few drinks took 30 minutes to come out and the rest 20-30 min later. They finally asked the other party to relocate to a different table and we were finally seated 45 min after our reservation time. We asked for bread which was also slow to come out and when it finally arrived was stale!! Not a good start. Ordered appetizers, first courses and entrees. Apps and first courses were mostly tasty. Long wait until entrees arrived and what a let down. Nothing was hot! Tepid at best. It was late enough that no one was willing to send anything back. The fish dishes were most disappointing. Ordered dessert and again a really long wait but mostly good. Our server seemed overwhelmed through most of the meal. I spoke with the GM about our experience and he was most apologetic and said he would make adjustments to the bill. Comped the apps but that was it. Didn’t seem like enough. Overall, the most disappointing high end dining experience we have had. I do want to give a shout out to the sommelier who was terrific.

The atmosphere was beautiful & the service was top tier. However I think the food was over priced. There was plenty of varieties of food but I was expecting the taste to be mind blowing. I cannot forget to mention the live entertainment! She was magnificent!

2025:
Back again! Went to a cocktail class – so fun and informative! The bar eats to accompany the drinks were exceptional and again, very accommodating to vegetarians.
2021:
Absolutely delicious brunch – probably the best in STL. Best part — there are many options to accommodate a vegetarian diet while still enjoying the brunch selections. Every single staff member was amazing and so friendly. All of the food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. My favorite item was the avocado toast and my guests was the in-house cut bacon. The high quality loose tea was an additional and unexpected delicious addition to the meal.

Great place to wine and dine or to celebrate someone or something special. The food is superb and the ambiance makes you feel like royalty. I decided to take my family and I here to celebrate my birthday. The host was so kind that she upgraded my group of 12 to our own private room. The room sits 12 comfortably with a huge marble dining table that everyone can sit around. The tiramisu birthday dessert they gave me was to die for! Thank you to everyone at Casa Don Alfonso for making my birthday a bit more special! Highly recommend!
