Good sandwiches, some good beers on tap. Prices aren’t bad considering the effort needed to haul everything up on the tram. Great scenery from the outdoor area. It is located right in the same building that the tram drops off. Where hiking shoes if you are going to enjoy the trails. Tram isn’t cheap but it’s worth doing once when visiting the area.

We only had drinks here but the food that others had looked pretty good. The view is amazing from 8150 ft. Server was very friendly & attentive.

Beautiful view. The pulled pork sandwich was really good. They were having grill problems and we got a hamburger raw. They were nice and removed our hamburger from our tab. I will try it again next time in Hope’s the air and the grill are better.

You don’t come here for the food or service, but for the atmosphere. Stop Mt Howard, you reach this location by taking the tramway from the South end of Wallowa Lake. They have a small selection of food options and a much more robust offering of alcohol.

We needed something to add a little weight to our protein shake lunch between activities so we ordered two bagels with cream cheese. Our server was very considerate and gave us a disposable knife since she had heard they often put too much cream cheese on the bagels. We ate the bagels while riding the tram back down to the lake. They used our favorite, an everything bagel, with lots of plain cream cheese. It was delicious. To our surprise, they included several strawberries with our order. It was the perfect combo.

If you’re not rushing to another activity, this is a great place to just sit and enjoy the views. The views are truly unique. I highly recommend making this trip and enjoying this rare spot for a bite to eat, something to drink, and one of a kind views.

Hard to beat the view! Witch is most of the reason to go here. We also had great seevice, great weather and good beer. We tried their beer sampler, one of us had the pulled pork sandwith, one had the clam chowder. I had chips and pico the gallo. We did go for a walk around to look at the view witch is awsome.

Most places with a view charge a small fortune and the food is convenience store quality. This place has high prices, but the food is excellent! Considering they’re up there around 8000 feet, their presence alone justifies the price, but the food is really satisfying. Come early and get the hiking in at the top before food. It’s incredible up there.

The tram way is very expensive, and it’s is nice that after hiking for a couple miles that there is a restaurant to grab food and drinks before leaving. The servers are nice, no issue there. However, the food was overpriced i.e a small bowl of chili and a little piece of bread for $12 and a hamburger size meatball sandwich almost $17. The food itself was okay def not amazing as many other local restaurants that charge similar prices. but felt justified. Our bill was like $100 with tip and that did include 3 hot chocolates, coffee, and a beer. I guess we paid for the experience of eating on a high point. However I still reccomned for a drink and appetizer.

Pretty great location for a grill with outdoor/indoor seating options. Limited food options on the menu which gave the “assemble & serve” vibe.

Ordered Ivar’s chowder: it was delivered hot with a side slice of crusty bread. Decent for a frozen and rewarmed chowder. Selected a blond beer from local brewery that we’ve had earlier & knew was good. Honestly was disappointed in the food options and quality. For the price paid, was expecting at least a good salad or sandwich option without paying the meat prices but having no meat.

Service was okay; nothing special. Place was super busy and almost all tables taken so staff may have been overwhelmed.

We plan to return for the tram ride & may consider stopping in for a refreshing beer only but will most definitely not be eating here again. Not worth the calories & $$ spent.

Great place for a view of the entire area. The ride up on the Tramway is a fun experience although quite expensive at $50 per person for elderly people. The Summit Grill offers good beers and good food with excellent service, and is the highest restaurant in the PNW (8150 ft above sea level). There are two nice hikes to the very summit of Mt. Howard and to a lookout point offering even more spectacular scenic views of Wallowa Lake, Joseph, Enterprise and beyond, however do beware that this is at altitude (8,261). One is going to need to take it slowly on the hikes or get out of breath or worse, suffer from altitude sickness. One will generally encounter the fattest chipmunks I have ever seen on these hikes, I suppose people cannot resist the desire to feed them 🙂
