I was also disappointed with how our phone call was handled. I called to let them know we would be about 10 minutes late for our reservation. The woman who answered sounded quite upset and repeatedly emphasized that we couldn’t be late because it was a full house. I explained that we would try our best, but our ETA was about 10 minutes past the reservation time. When we arrived and even until we left, the restaurant was only about half full, which made the earlier reaction confusing.
As for the food, the main dish scallops and mussels we ordered as an appetizer were very small in portion. The mushroom salad seemed dried out, as if it had been sitting for a while before being served. Both dishes were extremely garlicky.
The highlight of the meal was the pad Thai. The noodles were perfectly cooked and delicious. The green curry was also good, with a nice mild spicy kick.
They did take a while to serve us food but we were in no rush and they were packed given that it was the last day of Winterlicious.
I especially like when a restaurant can take classic cuisine dishes and give it an inventive twist that still feels authentically Thai. Savor Thai has done a good job with that.
My family and I are already planning to come back again!
We visited for the 10-course tasting menu, which starts at $135 per person, and were impressed from start to finish. Every dish arrived with a spectacular presentation and a touch of storytelling. Our server was knowledgeable and detailed, sharing the chef’s inspirations behind each creation.
The entire experience took us on a surreal gastronomic journey through Southeast Asia — engaging all the senses. A true celebration of flavour, artistry, and culture.
Enjoy, indulge, and of course… savor the Thai flavours! ️✨
I am actually very disappointed in the restaurant’s response. Instead of taking ownership for the fact that the shrimp I ordered at the exact same time as the pad Thai was brought out 15 minutes later, I received a response about items being prepared a la minute. It was quite clear as day to me that the server completely forgot to put in the item. When the runner brought the food out to the table, he looked shocked when I asked about the shrimp because it was probably never inputted by the server. Mistakes happen, I can understand that but there is no reason to try to cover it up. Honesty is the best policy.
Pros: Decor is nice. Hostess was very friendly and welcoming. They were mindful of my peanut allergy.
Cons: I ordered Pad Thai with Tiger Shrimp as the protein. Tiger Shrimp came 15-20 mins after the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was already lukewarm when I received it so waiting for the protein obviously made my dish cold by the time I ate it. Tiger Shrimp were large (I received 3) but chewy and what seemed to be overcooked. Portion size extremely small for $34 Shrimp Pad Thai. It wouldn’t hurt to add more noodles but clearly that is purposely done to force customers to order more food. Most of the plate is garnished with fried taro and lotus root to disguise the fact there are few noodles. Flavours were ok.
There is a minimum option of 20% gratuity on the POS terminal. Very audacious of a restaurant to do that. It feels very forced and intentional.
The team is warm and welcoming, and took extremely good care of us to note even the slightest detail.
