This restaurant is on my regular rotation, I love their food here! I’ve done both take out and dine-in, and definitely prefer dine-in as the quality seems better when it’s fresh from the kitchen, but it still makes for very tasty take out. Their green curry is my favorite, but I also love the massaman curry, lad na noodles, and their version of sesame chicken. I love the way they cook their eggplant and potatoes in the curry! The rice has always been well cooked for me and fried foods have always come out crisp. The serving sizes for entrees are generous with good presentation.

I will say though, the spice level is a little inconsistent based off who is in the kitchen (I like spicy, but don’t think they believe me sometimes! Also, I’m not positive, but I don’t think they use fresh thai chili, but dried instead). Sometimes I wish they had a bigger menu with more fresh app options like fresh spring rolls or som tum thai (my favorite!!!), but all that being said, I still crave their food on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal or experience.

Service has always been very friendly, and food always comes out fast.

As far as the setting- Everything is clean and well maintained, but there there isn’t much ambience, which is kind of a bummer. It would really do a lot and make people want to dine in more often if they changed the lighting and added some wall art or other decor around the dining room. It’d be nice if it felt a little more cozy inside for a date night instead of feeling like a take-out/quick lunch spot.

All in all, this is the Thai restaurant I recommend to everyone I know! I’m so happy to have you in the neighborhood!

As an actual chef myself, who has been cooking for over a decade and running kitchens , I will put an honest review here for all who are curious about Aroy Thai…
I live very close to this location and haven’t eaten Thai cuisine in a very long time so I wanted to give it a try. I got chicken egg rolls, pad Thai, tom kha soup and Thai tea. I spent a total of 35 with tip so prices are not bad at all..
Walking in, it is very depressing with no decor and just a few tables and a cement floor. I ordered take out and all my food my nice and hot! The egg rolls were somehow burnt yet soggy and very chewy. Not very good. Thai chili sauce was just ok and probably cheap store bought. Pad Thai was so acidic with lemon and the chicken I got with it had no color and was probably boiled. Pretty bland and not very spicy for medium heat. Tom Kha soup with beef was also bland and again served with boiled proteins as well as very acidic with lime . That’s really all I tasted. Very little coconut milk , galangal or spices come through at all. Just lime water with veggies and milk and no love or flavor. I love tom kha soup and make it in the winter with prawn stock. This was just depressing. The Thai tea was actually really good and the milk and black tea came together very well! I think it’s obvious there is no actual chef or management to inspect dishes or even taste them before they are served. I threw out all my food and wasted 35$ just to drink some tea. I can only critique items I got so hopefully other items are edible because mine was not.

Ordered pork pad thai. It didn’t have much sauce, so was pretty pale for a pad thai. The pork was a bit overcooked and not cut small enough for my preference. But overall it tasted okay. Not quite the authentic thai I was looking for.

This place has great Thai food for the price. Good portions. It’s spicy, so go mild or no spice. Some have given low reviews because it was too spicy. You chose that spice level. That’s not the restaurant fault. There is even a warning on the menu.

4.3 stars does not do justice to how delicious this is, especially compared to other Thai cuisine in town. I’ve tried them all and this is by far the most flavorful. Curry Pad Thai is the best around, even as takeout!

Enjoyed Aroy Thai for the first time tonight and I am amazed!! Incredible quality of food, big portions, mouth-wateringly delicious, and the price is lower than all of the other Thai places around town. I will absolutely be going back to Aroy Thai!

This is a very unimposing storefront restaurant in Standale that is a hidden gem. I ordered the Curry Pad Thai (medium spice) and Thai iced tea. The flavors were perfect. The spice was not too much for medium level but not so spicey to keep me from trying more spice the next time. The tea was perfect. They need to work on the overall atmosphere but they definitely got the food side of things handled.

The food and the flavours were really great. The spice levels are crazy though. I always order medium plus on any pad thai I order. (Around 7 or 8 out of 10). Since this place was new to me, I ordered a medium. (5 out of 10). I could barely eat 3 spoonfuls at a time. It was too spicy. Had my eyes watering at the end of the meal. I eat a lot of spices. I can go upto 9 or even a 10 when I am a little crazy. I cam take spices that make my eyes water. But this was just way too much for a medium level spice.

Best Thai food in town. Portions are generous and affordable, a great place to stop in and grab a bite or get one to go. I really enjoy the Chas chicken.

Anyone who complains about the spice didn’t read the menu. Shocker..hot is hot. Like really hot. And delicious. Get a mild or no spice and work your way up.
