I went in and ordered the French Dip. When I ordered the employees were nice. Then I got half way in my sandwich and I took a bite and bit something really hard. Turns out it was a piece of plastic. I went to and showed them and they didn’t do anything. I heard and saw whispers so I went back and showed them. No apologies. One of the employees offered to remake the sandwich. I said no. Why would I want to eat the exact same sandwich and risk another piece of plastic in my food. I was polite as I used to work in fast food and didn’t want to make a big deal when I showed them. Then when I was grabbing a napkins, I saw them whispering and I overheard an employee say “shes lying” so I went back tocthe counter and showed 2nd employee. But then while I’m sitting in there waiting for my husband to finish his sandwich the 2nd employee kept staring at me and I got a side eye from her. Never got an apology or a refund. We sadly won’t be going back as its seems the quality of service has gone down hill. I’ll go order an overpriced sandwich somewhere else.

Gave me the wrong toppings for my sandwich! I literally listed what I wanted and some how they added 2 sauces and a vegetable! 2 of these items make me sick when eaten! My wife is in the hospital and I don’t have time to go back and get a new sandwich especially since this one took them 20 minutes to make! With an almost empty lobby! They told me I can stop by in the morning to get a refund. If I get my refund I’ll increase my review to 2 stars.

Where do I start. Air conditioning not working, smells horrible inside, food slapped together and nasty. this place is awful. I love firehouse subs but this location should be past over at all costs.

Ate here today, and had an amazing experience. My mom is gluten free and they did have a gluten free bread option which she loved. The manager (?) Was very friendly and willing to accommodate her and I in any way. The new employees and management are doing great!

I normally stop at firehouse in Des moines iowa for a Philly steak and cheese including mushrooms absolutely delicious to go unfortunately this firehouse location was not very well with sandwich prepping it was horrible honestly very messy, cold cheese not melted mushrooms not added in the sandwich correctly grease on my box and bag so unfortunate at this location other city’s are great

This picture on the wall depicts two firefighters battling a car fire with no SCBA, nomex hood, or coat like a car fire isn’t extremely dangerous and incredibly toxic even after the fire is out. At least they are honest with how unsafe and complacent this fire department operates.
The food was good but not $20 good. That price is absolutely ridiculous just for a sandwich, chips and small drink. The cashier sounded like she could care less about my order and just wanted to go home. The restaurant was clean if you didn’t look under the table. The atmosphere was smokey.
