Gotta love it. Best fried chicken I’ve ever had – seriously. I drive 30+ minutes to grab a bite. Vibes inside are calm and cool. Lots of local and long-time customers. Staff has been here forever. Family owned. Catch Smitty and his son Dylan behind the bar and you’re in for a treat! I like my old fashioned.

How have I lived within a few miles of this place and not known about it for so long?? Friends recommended we give it a whirl, and we were not disappointed. In particular, the fried chicken, only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, was given rave reviews by many. Taste buds ready, I was met with perfectly seasoned, crispy chicken that was cooked to perfection. You can choose your pieces and white vs. dark meat. The mashed potatoes were beautifully seasoned and the side of mixed vegetables (zucchini is seldom my favorite) was also delightfully seasoned and not soggy. Cheryl, our server, is a long-time staff who is warm, sweet, and ultra accommodating. The place was packed–confirmation that the word is out. The prices are super reasonable, including for my Tito’s and vodka. Portions, as you can see, are generous. Love Smitty’s!

Such a great local pub with great service and marvelous food. We had a minimum of two people taking care of us at all times while we were there. I ordered their pork chop and was pleasantly surprised when a HUGE chop was delivered (see photos). The chop was glazed and perfectly cooked. The place was full of locals saying “Hi” to each other. We felt so comfortable. They opened in 1988 and our waitress had been there over 30 years. She was wonderful.

Great home style cooking a a real nice old bar. Inexpensive and a very fresh staff. You can tell they have big long time following. Small intimate place that I’ll not jump out at off of the street. It has a family feel to it just like the old time neighborhood bar. Give a try.

I had high hopes before coming to the restaurant because a few people recommended their fried chicken and it is only served on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Chicken breast were extremely salty. Thigh and wing weren’t fully cooked but the waitress told me it was okay.

Smitty’s is a true hidden gem! I was visiting from out of town and decided to give it a try based on the great reviews and it did not disappoint! I had the spicy buffalo chicken sandwich. My boyfriend and I agreed, It was easily the best chicken sandwich we’ve ever tasted. The chicken was perfectly cooked and was juicy, not dry. The buffalo sauce had just the right kick, and the combination of pickles and ranch made every bite delicious. We also tried the bacon burger, and I don’t know what magical cheese they used, but it was incredible. The French fries were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and great flavor, making them a perfect side. On top of the amazing food, the service was attentive and kind, making the whole experience feel special. Overall, Smitty’s delivered probably the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
