Dandelion had an intimate, low-lit, & cozy ambience. Interesting cocktail list and a plethora of local beers. For apps, we got the trout dip, caesar salad, and venison sausages. All three were very tasty! For mains, we shared the smash burger, pork chop, and cacio e pepe. Smash burger and fries were great but unfortunately the pasta was undercooked beyond al dente and had little taste. The pork chop was juicy, tasty, and interesting with the diced apple topping. I must add that the service was great and was another highlight!

Cozy atmosphere, beautiful views, and wonderful service!
The décor feels warm and inviting, with a gorgeous view of nature. Service is outstanding — welcoming, friendly, and accommodating — and it’s pet-friendly too.

We stayed at the Eastwind Hotel for the weekend and had dinner twice at their on-site restaurant, Dandelion. Not only is it convenient, but the food is tasty and the service consistently excellent. A perfect complement to a relaxing stay!

Dandelion offers a welcoming atmosphere that immediately sets a positive tone for your dining experience. The restaurant’s ambiance strikes a nice balance between casual and refined, making it comfortable whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal after a day of exploring.

The menu features solid, well-prepared dishes that deliver on expectations without necessarily exceeding them. I opted for one of their pasta dishes, which was generously portioned and attractively presented. However, I found the seasoning to be heavy-handed – the pasta was noticeably oversalted, which masked some of the other flavors in the dish.

What impressed me most was how the wait staff handled this issue. When I mentioned the saltiness, they were genuinely apologetic and quickly offered to remake the dish or suggest an alternative. This level of attentive, professional service really elevated the overall experience and showed they care about customer satisfaction.

As the primary dining option for guests staying at the Eastwind Hotel, Dandelion could easily rest on its captive audience. Instead, they’ve created a restaurant that stands on its own merits. While the food may not be destination-worthy, it’s certainly satisfying and well-executed. The combination of pleasant atmosphere, reliable cuisine, and excellent service makes for a dining experience that leaves you content, if not completely wowed.

Beautiful Setting, Poor Execution

The ambiance was amazing, but the food and service were a letdown. My wife’s roasted chicken looked good but was undercooked and raw in the middle, while my burger had a decent patty but came with a cold, uninspired bun. When we raised the issue, the chef refused to take responsibility, insisting the chicken was cooked properly without apologizing or offering a proper solution.

The saving grace was the bartender, who later apologized for the entire experience and service. She comped a couple of excellent cocktails for us to enjoy in the sauna, showing the professionalism the kitchen sorely lacked. Despite sending back the inedible chicken, we were still charged the full amount, which felt like an insult.

Stunning setting, but a deeply disappointing experience.

The photos here did not really prepare me for how beautiful this place would be. I really enjoyed our dinner here, maybe one of the best I’ve had in this area in the 20 or so years I’ve been weekending here. There’s an offhand stylish elegance to it, which of course is carefully composed, but it wasn’t intimidating, just inviting. The other guests seemed relaxed, I felt cared for as well as entertained and well-fed. We had the trout dip and the beet salad, both excellent, and we both had the pork chop. We ordered the Brussels hash, highly recommend that also. Their Catskills Cure cocktail was sublime and they made me a really nice Negroni Bianco at my request. We had wines by the glass with dinner, the Gamay and the Pinot Noir, I’ll recommend those also. Just a fantastic treat. And the service was swift and unobtrusive, friendly and kind.

Natasha, our server in the dandelion restaurant was energetic and super nice. She was a great resource for things to do in the area. The food at the dandelion was surprisingly good. And the drinks, particularly the rum drink, was delicious and well balanced. The lemon tart dessert was amazing and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like lemon desserts. They could definitely have some more pescatarian and vegetarian options.

Really special. The atmosphere and service is just right but what stands out is what Josh and Michael are producing from the Kitchen.

We only meant to stop by for for drinks but were tempted by the seasonal and changing menu (meaning missing something once may mean you never see it on menu again).

The seafood bucatini was out of this world and the striped bass was even better.

We’ll be back, a really outstandingly good menu and a great location in which to enjoy everything on offer

I had dinner here two nights in a row (I was staying in the property). Both nights the food and service were incredible. I love that they have specials. The drink called sunburn was delicious!

This fabulous out of the way hidden gem is the perfect intimate setting to be matched with such exquisite food and libations. The hand crafted special drinks are delicious and refreshing. The menu, has a limited selection of thoughtfully matched dishes matched to the current season. The staff is very knowledgeable, and is the perfect of taking queues to know if you are in a deep conversation or curious for some conversation or history of the place. This is a treasure, you will want to be sharing with others.
