Trail Stop Tavern serves great food at a great price. It’s a very busy restaurant but they have plenty of seating on the floor and at the bar. The atmosphere in the restaurant was loud, and playing way too much Backstreet Boys. However, it was a good place with lots of great decor and TV’s playing different channels all around. The food is hot, delicious, and worth every penny.

I will definitely be coming back.

Service was great! We ordered our dinners. Came out in literally 5 minutes which is a conern. Wife ordered Bleu cheese steak salad. Small steak which she ordered medium rare. Came out cold and rare. They do give out a whole head of iceberg lettuce, but brown!! Can’t understand why an expo would send that?? I ordered the cod dinner blackened. Thank goodness I got the 3 pieces instead of 2 because they were the size of chicken wings! Seasoned but NOT blackened! Fries were the best part of the meal. Only the 3rd time we’ve been here and I here its always busy, but the 3 times we’ve come to eat the food had been unsatisfying. We’ve both worked in the service industry for over 25 years and understand off nights, but 3 times for Trail Stop is enough!!

The bar staff here is phenomenal. I will say however, I’ve never been so disappointed by a food item I’ve ordered. The margarita Flatbread was a just a pre baked flatbread warmed up too quickly with tomatoes, mozzarella, and very small amounts of olive oil and balsamic glaze. Respectfully, basil is something you add on at the end, not before the oven. Fresh basil flavor is too volatile to be baked, it just disappears. Even after asking for more balsamic, the flavor was just too bland to redeem the dish. $16 for that quality shocked me, and I thought Eagen was supposed to be a rich city.

The chicken sandwich was fine but I will probably try something else next time. The tenants are ok as well but nothing special. Buffalo sauce for dipping was a little salty but ok. Great service! Pull tabs and coke products are an added perk!! The dry rub bone in wings were rather salty to my liking however great boneless wings! The fries aren’t wonderful kind of undercooked and crunchy like raw potatoes.

Very friendly staff. Lots of seating and bar space. Patio is well shaded. They have tall and short seats. Patio seats do have arms so a bit tight if you are plus size. Inside seats don’t they are more comfy. I don’t drink and they don’t have a mocktail menu but staff was accommodating and made me something it was great. We had the wild cat fries, teriyaki bowl, wild rice soup and steak kabobs.
The teriyaki bowl was perfectly made. Not too sweet or salty, chicken tenders and juicy. Veggies perfectly cooked and rice cooked just right.
The wildcat fries are very tasty with just the right amount of crunch and tender potatoes.
The wild rice soup was tasty and filling, a little liquidy.
The steak kabobs weren’t very flavorful. Cooked well and good veggies. Just didn’t seem seasoned.
Overall super delicious, good atmosphere and a great time.

We ordered off of the seasonal menu. The jambalaya was particularly good, with great flavor. The burger was good; the fries were undercooked, at least on the day we were there. Ambiance was a very typical sports bar, so something like jambalaya was a really nice surprise for me, and while the burger meal kind of fell flat that day, service was good, and I’d be willing to try this place again.

The atmosphere was nice and service was fine but the meatloaf is kind of nasty. I ordered the meatloaf melt and it was really mushy, almost like oatmeal. I think it had too much filler and not enough actual meat.

We were told about 30 minutes until a table would be ready. It only took about 10. The burgers were really good. Not the biggest tap beer offering for a tavern. Our server was just ok and seemed like he was not into his job. Overall, it was a good meal in a very loud atmosphere with some TV screens playing a few games.

I had dinner here recently for the first time with friends – turns out they have some good burgers & the grilled chicken on the Cobb salad was perfectly cooked… Sweet potato fries were the good crispy kind – YAY! Plus the cookie skillet dessert & nachos appetizer were also good! Great casual meeting spot for friends to chat & enjoy an evening together! P.S. they had pull-tabs the night we were there.
