I’ve been meaning to come here for a while, and I’m very glad I did!!
First of all, the atmosphere in AP Suggins is neat! It’s a cozy but light and simple interior that feels sort of like a little house! It is very cute!
Second of all, our server was very kind and helpful, and everyone seemed to care about our experience! It felt a bit understaffed in a few moments, but they made up for it with the quality of the service!
But most notably, to me, was the quality and the quantity of the food for the price! The price of the food was about what you would expect, if not cheaper than you’d expect, but when they brought out the food, we were shocked! The portions were huge!! VERY worth the price. I ordered the half portion of the Hot Brown, but it felt like a full portion, and I had leftovers. I personally would’ve asked for less cheese if I got it again, but still yummy! We all had leftovers! The spicy beer cheese and pretzel bites are good, too, and the chili was yummy!! $6 for a HUGE bowl! My mother ordered the chicken salad plate and she said it was some of the best chicken salad she’s ever had! We were all very pleased with our experience at AP Suggins!

Got nachos as a carryout. What a mistake. Probably the single worst nachos I’ve ever had, like ever. Chips were either totally soggy or burnt brown(see photos). There were literally large squares of onion….who eats giant raw squares of onion and why include it? It really takes some effort to mess up nachos and these are magnificently bad. It pains me to say that as suggins is one of my favorite places. Standards must have gone way down recently. This was made so lazily, with cheap/non fresh ingredients, if I could give it a negative rating I would.
It’s not edible. Looks like something that was made 24 hours ago and has been sitting around since. Then nuke it in the oven which would explain how they burnt chips yet nachos being lukewarm at best in the middle. Raw jalapenos, mushy tiny tomato squares, giant onion monsters, stringy day old lettuce….Shame on you for even serving this to a former regular(or anyone for that matter). I can’t believe we paid money for this thing . Feels like I’ve eaten at one of the places on Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares…I mean this is an embarrassing thing to send out.
I loved this place for years. They have an amazing au jous….but something is going in and it’s going way downhill.
Do yourselves a favor and stay away until they can get their kitchen issues sorted out.

Everything was amazing. They had the best pork chops I have ever had. The potato was huge and the beer cheese was wonderful and spicy. Also the salad was super fresh. The salad was probably my favorite part of the meal. We will be back.

The reviews had my hopes really high. The food was very mediocre & overrated. And not as responsibly priced as the online menu leads you to believe. The Queso Blanco was most definitely out of a jar. The chicken tacos were ok. The open roast beef sandwich & bean burrito were very plain. The Hot Brown was very good! That is the only reason they got 3 stars unfortunately.

If you’re anywhere near Lexington, whether you’re just visiting or lucky enough to live here, Suggins is truly a must. The food is always good, especially the catfish fingers, but what really sets this place apart is Vicki. She never fails to make you feel like you’re at home, and her kindness and warmth are the reason Suggins feels so special. She’s the kind of person who remembers you, treats you like family, and makes every visit feel personal.
Suggins isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a real fixture in the community, and Vicki is a huge part of that. Places like this don’t come around often, and people like her are even rarer. Highly recommend.

Food was very good, I had the Blackened Chicken with Green Beans and Fried Okra, my wife had the Fried Shrimp with Baked Potato and Mac -n- Cheese. We had the Queso for an appetizer…. The service was very good also the waitress staff was very friendly and efficient.

It’s been years, but our third time eating at Suggins. It’s consistently busy, so can be a little wait for a larger table. Last night was just two of us. Everything was as good as the past. I got the 1000 Island turkey sandwich with a side salad. It was very good, the sandwich had real turkey and their side salads are excellent. My fiance had a peach glazed pork chop, also excellent. Good service and consistent quality even after all these years.
