I stop by this place every time I’m in Philadelphia, and it never disappoints. The hand-pulled noodles are consistently great, especially the beef brisket noodles and the beef slice noodles, which are my go-to orders. The broth is rich and comforting, and the noodles have that perfect chewy texture you want from Lanzhou-style noodles.
The fried rice is also very solid and flavorful, and the dumplings are delicious as well juicy, well-seasoned, and a great side to share. On top of the food, the service is excellent. Even though I only visit occasionally, they remember me and even remember what I usually order, which makes the experience feel warm and personal. It’s a reliable spot for authentic, satisfying Chinese comfort food, and I always make time to come back when I’m in town.

The food was delicious. We stopped by accident and have added to the list of places to definitely go again. I highly recommend!

The food is incredible! We ordered both kinds of the pork dumplings, and they were the best I’ve ever had. The inside of the restaurant where we ate was nothing special, but the service was good. We will definitely be back!

Got noodles, scallion pancakes, pan fried noodles, and Chinese Hamburger and the noodles were by far the best thing ordered. The scallion pancakes were a bit dry, the pan fried dumplings tastes great but the pan fry lattice was not a lattice. It was more like a solid sheet (see pic). I would still recommend this place for the noodles. Service started off poor (she looked pretty annoyed) but got better as the meal continued.

this is my most favorite place to eat in Chinatown, and one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. the food is so fresh, flavorful, and authentic. you can really tell a lot of work and love is put into the food. for under $10 you can get a big ol bowl of hand made noodles served in a complex and comforting broth. most times, i am unable to finish my bowl of ramen, but i walk out feeling so full, warmed, and ready for a nap. my husband and i love this spot and we have so many great memories here. we’ve brought friends and family. i often come here by myself to read, write, watch tv, or really just sit there and enjoy the atmosphere and i always feel welcomed. you can tell other patrons feel the same, often coming to sit, eat, and watch tv for awhile because it feels so homey. please come and support this small business!
thank you for the amazing service:)

Always come only here when visiting Philly!

Located at 935 Arch Street in Philadelphia’s Center City, is a must-visit for noodle enthusiasts. Their authentic Lanzhou-style hand-pulled noodles are generous, flavorful, and made with care. Whether you’re craving a steaming bowl of noodle soup or want to try their stir-fried options, Nan Zhou delivers. The large portions and delicious broth make it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Plus, they’ve been pulling noodles for over 14 years, so you know you’re in for an authentic experience!

The Chinese hamburger (not pictured) was the best part of our meal and way bigger than I expected! The beef brisket noodles were good but I think the beef needs to be stewed longer to tenderize.
