Was looking for a good philly cheesesteak to eat, Im a native & ive been craving something similar to del rossi’s or Jims steaks. Unfortunately philly is the only place to get a good genuine cheesesteak.
Ordered the classic jawn with cooper sharp cheese fried onions & longhots.
Service was fast & speedy, didn’t wait no longer than 10-12mins for food.
Sandwich itself wasnt bad 3/5 but i prefer good seeded roll, bread was a lil chewy for my liking. No lacing or sear on ribeye, onions & peppers were cooked well. It was an underwhelming cheesesteak but not a bad one.
Ordered a side of fries with crab cheese dip those were good. Only bad part was the fries were unsalted tho, only flavor came from the dip.

Had heard really great things about this place so we decided to give it a try. Super glad I did! I ordered both a Mushroom and a regular cheesesteak, and was pretty impressed with both how flavorful the steak was and the great incorporation of the cheese with the meat. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more prompt getting us on our way.

We came here on the way to a baseball game, Very glad we stopped here. The interior was nice and clean, and though some of the chairs were stacked on the tables, there was outdoor seating. We all got cheese steaks for around $14 each, and they were all about a foot long. The food was amazing, genuinely one of the best cheese steaks I have had! The fries were also nicely salted, and if I ever come back in the area, I am definitely stopping in for a meal.

what an excellent experience at Spenny’s! The owner and staff were so kind and friendly, and it’s by far the best Philly pizza around. you’re not gonna find a better crispy crust, sweet tomato sauce, or non-greasy pizza anywhere. their upside-down pizza is a new addition to the menu, and an absolute must try!! we tried to take a photo but it was so good we almost demolished immediately. also, so affordable!

Let me just say that I finally found a cheesesteak in this area that actually tasted like a Philly cheesesteak!!! Food is fresh well seasoned and the atmosphere feels like family.
Very nice, warm and welcoming !!! The owner helped me out with my food and always greets whoever walks through the door.
I just wish they would offer a regular pizza cheese pie.
The upside down is good don’t get me wrong but I’m more in to regular pizza. I also do like that spenny fries because they mix the old bay with the cheese sauce instead of overly seasoning the fries with the old bay!!! Very smart!!! You can tell they use good quality ingredients!!! My fave cheesesteak is the Philly jawn but I add pickles and sweet peppers !!! It’s about time because I thought I would never find a Philly cheesesteak in reading. Go get you one !!!!

Best cheese steak I’ve had in quite a while! Loved the roll, meat was great, and plenty of cooper sharp. The tots were nice and crispy… I like that! Comfortable cool little place, with doggie bag items you don’t have to wait for. Everything is out for you to wrap your leftovers without waiting.

We ordered takeout from Spenny’s after driving past the place hundreds of times. I used the website to place the order and pay which was a simple and enjoyable process. Upon pick up the first thing that I noticed is that the restaurant is clean and the staff is super friendly. Now onto the food: The onion rings were ok, but the batter is very sweet so keep that in mind. I prefer a more savory onion ring so I personally would not order them from here again. The upside down pizza was interesting to try as we have never had anything like it. The sauce was a bit sweet for our liking and the crust very hard but all items seemed to be good quality. We ordered two cold sandwiches, both STUFFED with good quality, flavorful meat. They were good but in my opinion, there could be more lettuce and tomatoes in them for flavor. The Italian hoagie lacked the mixed meats, there was one piece of capicola or salami on the bottom and the rest was ham. We love to support family businesses so we would try Spennys again in the future — it seems that the cheesesteaks are amazing per other reviews. I will update the review once we give those a try!

Nice, low-key Philly themed place with Philly foodstuffs. Staff were all friendly. Quick service. The cheese

You absolutely MUST try the “pickle fries” – they are not frickles but rather fries with pickle/dill flavouring and an accompanying cheese sauce -> absolute perfection. Staff even checked in on us for drinks etc. Don’t let the humble exterior dissuade you from trying it. Philly hospitality and food!

Wow! We come up from Charlotte, NC 2 to 3 times a year. The wife is from here so she knows all the staple shops in the area. Since Covid a lot of these shops have closed or lost their IT FACTOR that made them stand out! Spenny’s is a small GEM in the city! Friendly staff which is a must since food is so expensive now! It makes the consumer feel better knowing that establishments appreciate you choosing them for a QUALITY meal. You walk in your greeted met with smile and your order is taken. The food is extremely fresh and I believe almost made to order. They even have sharp provolone! We’re cheesesteak and Italians sandwich lovers. The sandwiches are full and the steaks have FLAVOR. My only complaint was that my fries were a little cold and maybe not as fresh as they could be. However, it wasn’t enough to not let me give them 5 stars across the board. We’re in town for a family emergency and it’s nice to know we can get a quality sandwich/meal without so much other stuff going on. Spenny’s keep it simple , keep it quality, keep it fresh, and KEEP IT GOING! Quality over QUANTITY!
