Social Profile:

Breakfast Lunch Catering and Food truck services! On Jan. 7, 2004, La Flama made its debut in the Quad Cities. Our first Mexican restaurant was an establishment in Downtown Moline, IL, and we quickly outgrew it thanks to our staff, flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere for twelve years. Then we relocated across the river to Davenport, IA in September 2016, but we soon outgrow that space, too. Now we are at our final home @ 2107 Rock Island, IL 61201. We are here to serve breakfast and lunch from 8am to 2pm. We offer Food truck & catering services! Also, our beautiful restaurant is available for rent any night of the week for any occasion! Please visit our website and fill up the inquiry for more information. Thank you!

Excellent day to have lunch at LaFlama. The food was so hot when served that we had to wait a bit for it to cool. The food is seasoned, but not too spicy. Great service from Susie and cold beverages made this a great stop for a gloomy Saturday. New hours effective 12/04/2025.

I eat here once a week, I love the staff, the food reminds me of my time in New Mexico. I order something different whenever I go there. The soup is beyond heaven. The Wednesday special is the big burrito. I unwrap it and it just melts in your mouth. The staff are fabulous. Very friendly and kind. The restaurant is clean and homey. Breakfast all day, and so is everything on the menu. I love that they are in Rock Island.

Picked up an order of steak tacos, beans and rice, and chips+salsa… the steak was salty and there were hard pieces of steak and fat pieces. I attached a picture of a big fat piece in one of my tacos that was inedible and super chewy. I asked for a side of red sauce one the phone and they didn’t put it in the bag. Also the texture of the beans were strange, they were very watery.

I guess I was expecting more knowing they’ve been around the QC for a very long time. I decided to give their new location a try and I was a bit disappointed. I had ordered the Birria breakfast burrito and my best friend ordered the steak breakfast burrito. They both come with eggs, cheese, cilantro, onion, beans and rice on the inside but we wanted our beans and rice on the outside because I love to actually taste the quality of the beans and rice in any Mexican restaurant establishment without all the extra stuff.

First the food came out cool to the touch. Burrito was filled with massive cold cheese and eggs and onion. Everything was just cold as if it wasn’t fresh. There was hardly any meat in either burrito as you can see in the picture. The birria burrito you would think would come with the sauce for it but server said it didn’t but we could pay extra to have some. We did say something to our server about the quality of the food and she just said sorry.

Chips and salsa were good though. It’s an extra $2 to have some though. It’s not like most where they just give it to you. But they did give it to us for free because of the cold food with hardly any meat.

I’m going to try them again in the future and will update my review based on that. Mexican food is my favorite to eat and I was just overall disappointed. Hopefully things will get better once they are in there longer and get more established.

I’ve seen the La Flama food truck at the Freight House Farmer’s Market. I’ve had the street tacos from the food truck at said Farmer’s Market – they’re fantastic. I had yet to visit this restaurant location off Elmore, however. What better time to go than the first Taco Tuesday of 2023, right?

I definitely think so, and don’t regret the trip in the least. The space is very bright – a few of the walls are painted a simple yellow, one has a simple black and white floral pattern, and yet another has a La Flama sign backed in wood paneling. The furniture adds further color and variety to the space, with standard chairs of red, tables of a light blue, and yellow stools. Add in some strings of lights across the ceiling, and it’s hard not to feel a little happy waiting for your tacos.

Not that I had to wait even two minutes. After being seated by one of the waitresses, I quickly placed my order of hard shell tacos. I barely had time to glance at my phone before they were in front of me…wow! I don’t think I’ve had faster tacos anywhere else.

To the quality of the tacos, they were definitely alright. They had the characteristic crunch and flavor of a ground beef taco with the standard lettuce, cheese and tomato. The whole meal was decidedly tasty and filling, especially filling (6 tacos for $10? Oh yeah!).

A highlight of the trip to La Flama worth mentioning separately from the food and the dining space is the bathroom. Not only was the bathroom very clean and modern in furnishings and styling, it had something I’ve not seen anywhere else in a bathroom: a floor sculpture of flowers. It was unexpected, but I quite liked it after noticing it.

I definitely think I prefer the street tacos to the hard shell. I’m looking forward to coming back for some steak, birria, and chorizo on a return visit, adorned simply with cilantro and onion. Thanks for being great, La Flama!

If I could give it less than a star I would. Out of all the Mexican restaurants I’ve had around Rock Island and Moline this has to be the worst. This place reminded of how bad food can be and how misguided the other reviews are on here for this restaurant.
