We visited Burlington for the holiday weekend. While walking around the college and enjoying the scenery, we stumbled on Bar Renee. Upon going in, we found the owners exceptional welcoming. The bar had a relaxed but eloquent atmosphere. The selection was fantastic. Upon speaking w the staff/owners, I was very impressed that they highly value supporting local businesses for all their needs. There was a bit of construction going on close by, but definitely worth the visit.

I visited Burlington from NYC for work and was so happy and excited to find Bar Renée. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, without being pretentious or annoying about it. Just nice people working on and sharing something they’re passionate about.
If you don’t care about wine much and just want a few easy glasses, they’ve got it. If you’re a wine nerd and want to order a special bottle, they’ve got it.
The food is simple but just what you want at a wine bar, and the selection of VT cheeses and charcuterie was really fun to explore.
I really loved Bar Renee and can’t wait for my next trip to Burlington.

Bar Renée is my absolute favorite spot in Burlington. The staff is so welcoming and warm and the service is incredible. Their selection of wine is unlike anything in town and their recommendations are always spot on. It’s great for date night, late afternoon hangs, and partying with friends! I love it!!

This place is incredibly beautiful. Claire and Alex are wonderful hosts with an impeccable taste in wine. If you like natural wine and small bites: this is the place. It looks very sophisticated but are very kid friendly. Be prepared to be impressed.

What a delightful and wholly unpretentious wine bar! While visiting Burlington, my husband and I happened by Bar Renee and popped in for a glass… or ten. Absolutely lovely staff, knowledgeable about their wines. Interesting, excellent selections to drink by the glass or bottle from lots of different regions. Intimate enough for good conversation, but lively music and lighting that didn’t feel like a cave. The carefully selected tapas menu looked spot on, though we didn’t sample as we’d already eaten.
Can’t say enough good things about this place, should be a requisite stop for any oenophiles in the area or folks just looking for an ideal tipple in a terrific atmosphere.

Bar Renee is such a gem in Burlington. If you’re into natural wine—or even just wine-curious—this place is where you want to be. The list is incredibly well-curated by Alex, who clearly knows his stuff and brings in bottles you won’t find anywhere else in town. Same goes for the beer—every option feels intentional.
The space has a great energy: warm, unfussy, and effortless. It feels like hanging out at a friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste. The staff is welcoming, laid-back, and happy to walk you through the menu without any snobbery.
Their by the glass pricing and bottles make natural wine approachable and available for everyone. Both the bar setting and retail space is so impressive.

Bar Renee is a breath of fresh air and I’m so psyched we have a wine bar like this in Vermont. I’ve described this place to other friends as a “Wine Professional/Winemakers” wine bar without being intimidating for those of who are casual drinkers. The place is very welcoming and I truly look forward to any opportunity to go.

Went in here while visiting from Maine. Joe was very helpful in recommending wines. He was also pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend this place for an amazing variety of wines, but also to talk to Joe. Definitely will come back next time I’m in VT
