Very ideal place to enjoy magnificent Chinese cuisine in ambient environment. Very spacious and peaceful environment. The fried duck is one of the best line in menu. The brinjal item is also great. The food is delicious and reasonable in amount in the plate. The service table is fantastic where you can roll your food which makes it ideal for parties or celebrations including shared food in the group.

This off the beaten path hidden spot was a true find. We didn’t even get around to trying any of the entrees , sadly we are on vacation and won’t be able to indulge in a second meal here . As we were delighted to find two divine appetizers that are hard to nearly impossible to find. The BBQ Spare ribs, on the bone, is the easier appetizer to find. And the Shrimp toast, which I haven’t had in going on 40 years. The service was a smidge slow as the hostess was also the waitress, but everything came out as ordered and perfect.

You know how NYC has the best Chinese food in the US? Well Mr. Han has the best Chinese food I’ve had since NYC. We had the lo mein, some chicken dish I can’t remeber the name of, fried pork dumplings and Cantonese Egg Rolls. It was all AMAZING! But I do have to say the pork dumplings were my favorite. I live 2 hours away, but I’ll be back soon!

We stayed at the hotel across the street and decided to eat there. Our view was the bottom of the place, we didn’t realize there was an entrance upstairs wi t h a walkway from a parking lot. Despite seeing the pictures from their website we went inside expecting the worse. The inside matched the pictures and there was a good crowd. We were seated immediately. Despite there only being one waitress, one waiter ( the grandson of original owner, had a good story about the history) and one hostess, who was also running the bar and helping at the tables, our service was great. For the 3 of us we ordered 3 appetizers. The steamed dumplings were delicious as were the shanghai style spring rolls with shrimp and pork. We shared fried rice, and general tso’s chicken ( both very yummy) and bok choy with garlic sauce which was not my thing but yummy as well. Average prices for an upscale Chinese restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant was classy. Very happy with our decision to eat here, highly recommend visiting for dinner. Weekday specials were dim sim for lunch so if you like that go early. We were sorry to have missed it.

DO THEY WANT BUSINESS?
I was excited to try this place as there are limited Chinese restaurants in Gainesville. I came in and waited for almost 10 minutes with no one to come and seat me. The piano player was trying to assist me since no one was coming. After a server finally came and we told them we reserved seats, they still took another 10 minutes. I left and decided to not give this place a try. There was also a weird smell… looks like I’ll be going back to yummy house.

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience. We are celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary and I’m so glad we decided to come here to celebrate.
I was blown away by how delicious the food was. Also, the portions are bigger than I expected.

Even though they were short staffed, the waitress was very kind and made sure we were cared for, despite the situation.

I definitely recommend the sweet and sour chicken and the chicken lettuce wraps. We will definitely be coming back here soon, without a special occasion!

Good value, food was fresh and tasty. Great choice of food and desserts. Family friendly, recomend booking to avoid waiting as was busy. sushi was good, hong kong noodles were tastsy also recomend the black bean beef. Staff friendly and helpfull. Would suggest improvement on softs drinks machine as it was quite messy. Otherwise soda machine mixed good drinks. Mr Hans Buffet is definetly worth a visit. ****

We just had rehearsal dinner there and used their private dining room. It couldn’t have gone smoother. The food was delicious, there was tons of it, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. This is the second time we’ve done it and everyone still raves about how much fun it was and how good the food was if you’re thinking of hosting some sort of dinner I need a private dining room space in Gainesville, this is definitely a solid option.

This is a out of the way/ hidden restaurants off Newberry road. But it has an awesome atmosphere. Very impressed with the layout of the restaurant. Feels so inviting. The young man who to my to go order was very pleasant and friendly. The pork fried rice was excellent. I will definitely be returning for a dine I dinner in the near future. If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant for the food and atmosphere I highly recommend Mr. Han’s. 5-

Visiting my freshman daughter in Gainesville she was in the mood for Chinese food. I wondered if Mr. Han’s was still open. To my surprise it is and had good reviews. Last time I was there was my UF graduation dinner in 1988. It was a very fancy restaurant back then. Not as fancy anymore but the food and service was great! I mentioned to the hostess our story of why we came in and she pointed to a younger gentleman who is Mr Han’s grandson. The restaurant is still in the family she said. I’m so glad we went and my daughter has a new favorite Chinese restaurant she will be telling all her friends about!
