We picked up the cheesy bread and it was really good. The crust had a nice slight char and great texture – savory with a satisfying mouth feel. If the appetizer is this solid, the pizza must be excellent.
My wife ordered the prime rib Benedict, which was an interesting take on a Philly cheesesteak. It was good enough that I found myself wishing I’d tried the prime rib omelette instead.
The Gouda grits were smooth and creamy. My wife initially planned to just have a few bites but ended up finishing the entire bowl.
The waffle was hearty and had a nice dense texture, and the tenders were juicy with a light, crispy coating.
The sweet potato fries come coated in sugar and topped with pecans and syrup – definitely a decadent twist on the classic version. (Though for my diet I skipped the sugar and syrup).
The wings were juicy and well-prepared. Nothing extraordinary, but done right.
No wait on Sunday in December for lunch.
Plenty of parking.
One of the highlights of the night was getting to hear Ariel Casey play acoustic. She was fantastic, and the live music really added to the atmosphere and made the evening more enjoyable.
That said, the service was painfully slow. It took a long time for orders to be taken and delivered, which put a damper on an otherwise nice night. Hopefully that’s something that can be improved, because the food and entertainment deserve better pacing.
My other critique is the draft beer selection. I’d love to see more options beyond the usual American light beers. Seeing the same lineup everywhere feels outdated, and offering a few craft beers on draft, especially local or rotating options, would really elevate the place.
With faster service and a more modern draft selection, this could be a standout spot.
OG post: I come here only for the pizza. They do have the absolute BEST pizza in town because they have a brick oven and their dough is my favorite (just the right amount of crunchy and chewy). I always get the Mushroom Madness pizza and it’s always delicious. Sometimes though, the pizzas are smaller in size, and I’m not sure why, so consistency isn’t always there.
Every time I’ve ever been in here, the customer service is usually horrible. I get my order to go now, because of that. On the few occasions that I’ve come to dine in, I’ve waited up to 20 minutes just to have the waitress come get drink orders. And every time the waitress are unhappy, unfriendly and act like they hate being there, or that they are mad. I found it to be bizarre, since this isn’t a ‘one-off’ experience.
I’ve tried other menu options, along with their eggs Benedict for brunch, and didn’t care for any of the other food I’ve tried so far. Their pizza is really the only thing I enjoy from here and I do order it pretty regularly when I am in town.
