First time walking in and out wasn’t packed. I love to sit at the sushi bar. The cure of meat on the sushi was nice and generous. The tuna Toro melts in your mouth. The rolls were amazing 10/10 the food here never disappoints. The staff is nice and always ready to help. The atmosphere is great the smaller the place the better the food.

Delicious and unique rolls! The fish was really fresh and the portion sizes were generous. The salmon is smoked in house and very yummy. The servers were super friendly, and gave us complimentary house made chocolate at the end!

A very warm welcome here as my friend eats here regularly….and food wise I can see why.
Nice big glass of chilled water straight away and then happy and attentive service.
The sushi was great in all the forms it came. The fresh wasabi is a must!
Also had some of the teriaki action going on which was delicious.
The kobe beef was well worth the bite too!
This place is well worth a trip and has all the hallmarks of a well-run restaurant.

Came here for lunch and had a great experience! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great. It was very quick (we were in and out in about 30 minutes) for a lunch break. I had a Philly roll and the beef gyoza and both were so good. I will definitely be back for dinner!

So technically wasn’t aiming to come here, but my navigator got confused(again). This is the second time I’ve ended up at a sushi restaurant that was not where we originally agreed upon. As long as it’s good I’m always down for sushi though. They are more of a modern style sushi, with mostly specialty rolls to fit every appetite. I like how you can get half orders of some of their specialty rolls which we took advantage of. I know there was a kush and a bobby roll, a Ryan roll(?) and can’t remember the last one, plus seaweed salad and salmon skin roll. Everything was excellent, especially the kush and bobby rolls. I can’t believe I somehow ended up with mostly soy wrap rolls but I did. Even being a traditionalist to the point of snobbish, I was really wowed by these. My salmon skin was excellent too. The Sapporo was ice cold, almost slushy. So good on a secretly hot day in October. BUT being the sushi snob that I am, I have to admonish them for no mackerel. If you can’t feed my saba addiction, you won’t get my undying love and admiration.

Everyone loves Kanno for a reason. It’s absolutely delicious and the service is top notch. A surprise treat comes with the check at the end of the meal that is a delight. Can’t go wrong by coming here!

high quality seafood w/ incredible variety for a good price.
their nigiri sushis are quite large (2x the size of other sushi restaurants) so we eat them in two bites, which feels a bit weird. but their fish is usually very fresh, high quality, and there are so many options to choose from.
i especially recommend the yellowtail, japanese scallop, albacore tuna, and eel nigiri sushis. i also love their salmon skin roll (much simpler than their other rolls and very delicious). sometimes they get really good uni.
there’s no going wrong here, and they also have a large list of very inventive rolls and apps.

Without question my favorite sushi place in the greater Nola area. So so fresh, small space but great knowledgeable staff who aren’t afraid to make recommendations. The salads are unique and delicious… I’m currently over the moon with the albacore kimchi salad.. It’s delicious. Sashimi deluxe is great value and variety of fish.. All buttery and melt in your mouth good. Kanno is one reason to go to Metry.
