I’m not sure that I could have had a better experience here!

From the super nice and friendly staff to the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and quite possibly the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life, I can’t wait to come back and try some other things…

My avocado toast was surprisingly loaded, tasty and filling. I could only finish 1/2 the order! The pastries look tempting. I bought a chocolate chip cookie to go. My Latte with whole milk and coconut flavor hit the spot!

I’m so proud of have far they’ve come I’ve always enjoyed them but it seems like they hust keep getting better and better with the menu options. I really enjoy their avocado hummus toast and all the fresh baked goodies! The vibe is also impeccable

Stopped off for an off-season weekend getaway and was up early on a Sunday morning. The Bakist opened at 7:00, which was perfect. Everyone was friendly, and the coffee was genuinely good — way better than I expected.

The real standout was the gooey butter cookie. So good I’m glad I don’t live closer, or I’d probably have a heart attack within a couple of weeks. Delicious. Damn good.

Good coffee shop in the heart of North Beach. Coffee is quite good, but the service is very slow. Expect to wait even in non-busy times.

The Bakist was a pleasant brunch surprise while my fiancé and I enjoyed a scenic by way trip this morning. We’d never been in the area and stopped by on a whim, and I’m so glad we did!

The sweet gentleman who took our order was wonderful – willing to answer questions and assisted us at the end as we decided to purchase four homemade foccacia rolls and additional goodies. I didn’t get his name but we sincerely enjoyed interacting with him (blue/light eyes, tattoo on the back of his neck, slim build).

For brunch, we ordered the egg and cheese croissant, ham and cheese with tomato and spinach on foccacia, iced cafe au lait and hot chocolate for $28 (tip included), and four foccacia rolls, blueberry muffin, gooey butter cookie, snickerdoodle cookie and s’mores cookie were all for $25. The foccacia roll alone is UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously, one of the best I’ve ever had and would be a killer grilled cheese served with tomato soup. High five to whomever makes the breads at The Bakist! The egg and cheese croissant sandwich was larger than I expected and hot, absolutely delicious.

Parking was easy to find, although I’m sure it’s more difficult on warmer days. The coffee/art shop was very nice and relaxing. Restrooms were clean and although the space felt very low key, the decor was inviting and comfortable.

I sincerely look forward to returning to The Bakist again. Thank you to the kind team for a fun, delicious experience on our spontaneous day!

This café is really cute and, honestly, the only café option in Chesapeake Beach — which is part of why I come back. The customer service is consistently great, and you can’t beat the location right in front of the beach. On a quiet day, it’s actually a really nice place to sit, work, or relax.

That said, the biggest downside has nothing to do with the café itself and everything to do with some of the patrons. Too often, parents bring completely unruly children who scream, run around, and treat the place like a daycare. I don’t want to hear nonstop yelling or watch kids picking their noses and sneezing all over the furniture. On top of that, I’ve even seen full-grown adults putting their feet up on the furniture — which is just gross and classless.

The café itself is lovely, but the lack of basic manners from some families and adults really takes away from the experience. My advice: come during the week when school is in session. It’s a much better vibe then.

We are very happy to have the Bakest in the neighborhood. However, they need to work to improve the coffee. I ordered an espresso and found it undrinkable – super bitter. Later I ordered plain coffee – not anywhere near hot.
We will keep coming to support local business but…
