Please come eat here! My only complaint is that I cannot give more than 5 stars. There are not many places like this left. The quality and flavor of the meal I had was amazing. Best Mac n cheese and dressing w gravy was out of this world. I came here for lunch on my birthday because I knew it would not disappoint. I realize why it’s called soul food, a meal like that can heal the soul. Oh and the bread and butter pickles, mmmmm!!!

This is se of the best home cooking I have ever had. I loved the meatloaf, butternut squash, cabbage casserole, cornbread, AND don’t let me leave out the sweet tea, because it was great. That’s important to a lot of people but never fear… There were other foods I wanted to try but didn’t go hungry enough. No problem because I do plan on going back to try the chops, cobbler and okra. Park in the back and go in the back door, just like Grandmas house. You won’t be disappointed!!

Perfect little hole in the wall café in downtown Toccoa area. Had the meat and three with a peach cobbler for $12.00 with a Diet Pepsi for $2.00. Go in, choose your food from hot bar and dine in or take out. I took out and glad I did. Huge portions!! Enough for dinner. The fried chicken livers were sooo good. Still crispy at 1:00pm. Mashed potatoes and gravy delightful. Field peas perfect, squash casserole divine!! And, oh the cornbread was light and perfectly cooked. The peach cobbler was heavenly. Shirley has got this soul food cooking down. I read where she helps out with a homeless ministry. The Lord has truly blessed her souls food. Must stop in…

I just ate here for the first time today and I’m so mad at myself for not trying it sooner. Everyone was so incredibly kind and welcoming. I don’t think I’ve ever had cabbage that good!! Actually I know I haven’t. The fried okra was amazing. The strawberry cobbler was so good that I instantly felt guilty for eating it without my daughter so I wrapped it up and brought it home to share with her. I cannot wait to come back!!
