Tried Thai O today, located behind Fred Meyer. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable — a nice spot to enjoy a proper sit-down meal without feeling rushed.
What we ordered:
• Golden Shrimp – This was my favorite dish. Truly delicious. Lightly battered, perfectly crispy, not greasy at all. The shrimp were plump and tender, and the sauce paired really well. Highly recommend.
• Salmon Green Bean – Very well done.
The green beans were still crisp, the salmon was a large fried portion, and the flavor was bold and well balanced. This dish stood out.
• Chicken Satay – Tender chicken, grilled nicely. The peanut sauce was mild and easy to enjoy.
• Fried Rice – Generous portion, lots of egg, nicely aromatic, and simply seasoned.
Honest thoughts:
• Overall flavors lean toward Thai-American, approachable and not overly spicy.
• Portion sizes are good and feel worth the price.
• Food presentation was clean and well put together.

First time here, ordered cashew chicken and beef salad. Beef was completely washed out, tasted like it’d been soaking in sink water. Cashew chicken had no cashews.
No music either so the ambience was just off.
I grew up on Thai food, and I believe in the talent here, but the way this beef was cooked was disrespectful to the animal.
Food is only getting 2 stars for the crab rangoons my partner got.

Second time we came here. We ordered three main dishes for the four of us to share. There was more than enough food to go around. Why settle for one taste when you can try three different ones!
This is a nice family run Thai restaurant. Good food at good prices. Some Thai Iced Tea and you are ready to go. We enjoyed our dinner. They were very busy.

So flavorful, pineapple curry was my favorite. Every plate can be made out with tofu. Lots of options for vegans. Small size plates, extraordinary delicious and affordable. Service was excellent. We had to eat there everyday, since there’s no much options for vegans around. Soo good! Thank you

We really enjoyed the fresh ingredients and presentation. There was attention to detail. The food was a bit cool temperature wise but flavored well. Also I expected a bit more food for the $12 price of each dish. The restaurant decor is more indicative of a fast food restaurant with the booths and tile floor. Wednesday wasn’t too busy during the diner hours but they had a lot of take out orders coming through.

The food was pretty plain, for a Thai restaurant I would have thought it would have some spice to it. Edit: I noticed after relooking at the menu, you’ve the option to spice your dish up! so the plainness to my dish was my own lack of reading the menu.
The chicken was really tender & good dish. But, nothing I’d think this is Thai food.
When we went in it wasn’t very busy. I only saw one waiter the whole time: But, he didn’t have very friendly customers service. He was a little rude when I ordered my food he kind of rushed me, then when I ordered my drink he scoffed & never brought it to me. He didn’t checked on us, even though he sat 3 more sections beside us.
If you want a place that just does bare minimum & is simple. You’d enjoy this place. Not recommended if you’ve a kid, if they had kid seats I wasn’t offered any. And there’s no kid size options. My toddler ate my food so it was fine, but just to be aware.

The food here is delicious, the teriyaki chicken is cooked perfectly and the sauce is great. The calamari rings are also very good. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the service. I’ve been here a few times now and am not usually welcomed in. It has taken a while for me to be seated even when it’s not busy. There were times the server showed a bit of annoyance for me asking questions about the menu. Besides that, the restaurant is very calm and quiet with soothing music playing in the background, which is nice.

Every December 23, we go out for Thai food to celebrate the life of a family member who passed away. It was her favorite type of cuisine. Since moving to Central Oregon, we hadn’t been to any Thai restaurants. Thai O is a little gem tucked away in a shopping center near Fred Meyer.
Upon walking in, we were greeted by our waiter. He was the only wait staff that we saw in the half fully restaurant. Having been a server, I know how daunting it can be to manage many tables alone. There were only three of us, but he was managing a 7-top and some smaller groups. He was attentive and prompt throughout our time there. The rest of the patrons seemed to be having a great experience, as well.
We ordered pot stickers and egg rolls to start. They were fresh and hot. The dipping sauces were awesome. I kept one to put on my entrée. Both tangy and sweet, but not the same concoction.
For entrées we ordered Basil Stir Fry with pork, Pad Thai with beef, and Teriyaki Chicken.
The basil stir fry was on point. The green beans were perfectly al dente. All the vegetables were really, but fresh green beans can be tricky. The sauce was so good that I would have put it in a cup and drank it. The white rice was a good vessel to carry the sauce.
Although the other two dishes weren’t mine, I was able to try them both. My 14 year old cleaned the plate of his teriyaki chicken. Including the fresh broccoli and the carrot garnish. My husband’s beef pad Thai was tasty as well. Mine was the best, though. We left feeling food drunk and elated. That’s what happens when you eat so much you’re ready for a nap.
I highly recommend Thai O. They put a lot of care into the preparation of their food, and the recipes are enriched with Thai flavors. Our celebration of life was abundant in delight.
We will be returning and are stoked that we found this place that’s just a few minutes from home.

We enjoyed Thai food for lunch. They were willing to make Pad Thai without egg. We enjoyed Sweet and Sour Stir Fry, Garlic pepper stir fry were also great.
